Yesterday i decided to throw caution the wind and try out a Battleground in WoW. I had no idea of what was about to happen, who I would be grouped with, where i would be going apart from "Arathi Basin 2". I was completly lost.

I was able to join a group instantly and there was a minute before everything kicked off. Inthis minute you and your allies stand around in a lobby area looking out to the battlefield. Druids and Priests instantly started giving out buffs and then i realised something. I was the only person in this group without a mount. Even though I'm level 32 I havent got the cash even though i could just take from the guild bank but I feel guilty taking out if I can't put anything of worth in.

It appears that you are grouped roughly to your level so I'm guessing 30-39. Needless to say all these people realised that being near the 39 was pretty much essential in this style of play. But what the hell, i decided to stick it out and see what I could do.

Turns out...not much. Most people run around in circles bouncing everywhere and the teamwork aspect is thrown out the window, well on my team anyway. The Horde porbably co ordinated.

Needless to day my efforts at killing people weren't much use as they were all seven levels up but it gave me an idea of what to expect in the future. So in a few levels time i will return stronger...and with a mount.

I've fucking had it with these mother fucking idiots in my mother fucking games.

There are too many assholes on XBL, no, wait, let me rephrase that, there are too many assholes who play Rock Band.

I don't want to have arguments with anyone, but christ, it's impossible to actually be able to play Rock Band online without having my mic turned off, or having a private session with some friends. There are too many people who seem to functionally retarded to be able to be able to just be nice to people they meet on the internet, or just let me play Guitar after I 100% the Bass to Reptilia.

Then there's those people who don't have any clue on when you're meant to use overdrive, there's a thing called overdrive stacking, but these fucktards don't know what the fuck it is.

Anyway, rant over, I could go on for longer but I don't want to go into college tomorrow filled with angst.

Blizzard and Power-levelling

Every WoW player at some point has heard of power-levelling and gold sites. I am on two fronts with this. If a player all of a sudden becomes bogged...

Every WoW player at some point has heard of power-levelling and gold sites. I am on two fronts with this. If a player all of a sudden becomes bogged down with work or other aspects of life and is finding it hard to level then by all means I don’t see what’s wrong with paying money to go higher. Sure its profit on something that can’t really be sold but no one would do it for free. I don’t really see whats wrong with £5 for 500gold though!

However I do not see why Blizzard views this as a bad thing. Sure, they didn’t think of it but what is wrong with it? Here we are paying to play! Ok, so they need support, understood but we still pay that £9 a month to log on. So what Blizzard should do is create their feature for all this. For example you are level 35 and can only play an hour or so a few days a week and you want to level but are finding it hard. So you go to the WoW site and go to the power-level option. Say your level, where you want to get to, example 50. Then say you want to be placed in a fresh questing area for new content and maybe pay £20 for the services and in a few days it’s done. All items are placed in the bank for you to view over and decide what to do. Maybe even all expenses like repairing and travel have been reimbursed so the player comes out even richer. In response to gold maybe have it subscription based. Say you have played for two months you get a certain amount of gold depending on level and time subscribed. Perhaps some gold when you use the levelling service.

Also having multiple characters and going through the 1-80 process may get tedious for some....a little boost sure would help.

Some players say it disrupts the gaming economy but im not sure how. It's just gold. It doesn't let you use any powerful items at an early level. The most you could do is buyout a few sellers in the Auction House but thats not disruptive if anyone can do it! Ok, so you could sell the item again for a small profit but there wouldn't be any point in buying expensive stuff just to resell unless you became highly efficient to really make it work for you.

So my brother had been nagging me to watch this anime movie he'd downloaded called Sword of the Stranger. And after about a month of not bothering, I sat down with him and watched it.

And by god is that anime awesome.

It was beautifully drawn and animated extremely well, and I'm going to give a brief synopsis of the plot, but I highly recommend that you watch it yourself if you're even remotely interested in anime.

The movie follows a boy and his dog as they run away from a group of Ming Province Vassals (who feel no pain through the use of a mysterious drug). He runs into a samurai who's taken shelter in the same abandoned temple as the boy. After being confronted, the boy hires the samurai to escort him to a far-off temple.

It's by far one of my favorite animes that I've ever seen, and I can't be any more serious when I tell you to watch this film now.

All the time I get barraged by my friends wanting to know my opinion about the status of the console wars. My devoted Sony friends, who constantly tell me that the Six-Axis isn't a bunch of bollocks and that flashy graphics make up for the lack of actual depth in certain games.

And my single friend in the corner, screaming at us that the Wii is the most superior console because of Smash Brother's Brawl and a few other mediocre titles.

As a Xbox 360/Wii owner, I can honestly say that the best console of all time is the Dreamcast, and nothing will ever be better than that, because no other console will ever have Jet Set Radio.

And for the Guitar Hero/Rock Band war, if we can take by Activision's last attempt at the Guitar Hero series we can honestly say that it's not going to be great. Yes the stupidly big hit timer is nice to have, but it makes it feel like too much of a rhythm game and not a Guitar Sim.

At first i was thinking of getting it nearer christmas as loads of people get games then and i thought that most of the problems that people were...

At first i was thinking of getting it nearer christmas as loads of people get games then and i thought that most of the problems that people were hitting would be eliminated.

But after realising that few games were coming out that are worth mentioning i decided to go for it.

I must say that it's been a decent experience so far, The players are a bit more agressive as outside city limits its pretty much PvP free for all but what the hell, you can fight back. However due to this it seems that players don't share as much as they do in WoW, here it's more competition based whch adds to the world that you are in and if that was the goal of Funcom then points to them.

The combat is what keeps me going and not for grinding as much as just pulling off powerful moves that eliminate lower leveled NPCs or that lvl 12 who thinks he can beat a lvl 16.

Today a band of players were taxing players who crossed thier path and demanded money or your life. Sadly I was not on thier island as my business had taken me to the Tortage Underhalls but I would have liked to see them keep that promise. I play as a female Ranger so I get picked on as people assume "girl in game world...girl sitting at PC." WRONG! (and a few have suffered due to that assumption).

So i got to lvl 17 (i only play in short sprees to keep the game a game not a grindfest). To advance into the big world you have to reach lvl 20 which is good as all the quests in your area will focus on your level but even in WoW ot doesn't take a lot to know when you should go back to your previous location to do a few more quests but at least AoC foucuses.

AoC has a single player as well where you fulfil your "destiny". This takes part at night. Day=MMO, night = you. but when you reach 20 the timing is fluid like every other MMO and its dog.

Overall AoC is much more advanced and both it and WoW are great games in thier own ways so even if you play one it doesn't mean you should limit yourself. I play both and find each enjoyable. WoW wins in terms of nicer people though...but thats me...I play a female assassin ( I got bored of generic males okay!) so i get what may be guys helping me on quests. Oh, the wonder of teh interwebz. ( I promise never to write like that again).

I compare it to WoW not to judge but because we all know it's the leader in MMOs right now. Or at least one of them. If you play and compare you won't enjoy it. Just appreciate it for what it is. It's actually a worthy opponent in my view.
