All the time I get barraged by my friends wanting to know my opinion about the status of the console wars. My devoted Sony friends, who constantly tell me that the Six-Axis isn't a bunch of bollocks and that flashy graphics make up for the lack of actual depth in certain games.
And my single friend in the corner, screaming at us that the Wii is the most superior console because of Smash Brother's Brawl and a few other mediocre titles.
As a Xbox 360/Wii owner, I can honestly say that the best console of all time is the Dreamcast, and nothing will ever be better than that, because no other console will ever have Jet Set Radio.
And for the Guitar Hero/Rock Band war, if we can take by Activision's last attempt at the Guitar Hero series we can honestly say that it's not going to be great. Yes the stupidly big hit timer is nice to have, but it makes it feel like too much of a rhythm game and not a Guitar Sim.
I am actually very much of the same, Arch. I think the Dreamcast was exceptional and (obviously) a huge fan of the Xbox 360 at the same time. I've had several people argue for both sides, PS3 and Wii, but I don't bother get involved anymore. If they want to tell me that the 600 dollars spent on the PS3 was a wise investment, by all means go home and spend your time playing the subpar game titles for the console. The time I could've spent arguing for the Xbox 360 would've been a waste considering the kickass titles for the console.
i just play games no matter the console. if th game is good i'll play it. the only reason i dont have a wii is that i dont see any/enough games on there that appeal to make it worth my cash.
As far as GH and Rock Band i dunno. Didnt like GH3 at all, the next one looks good but who knows, it has more songs that i like but RB has loads of DLC but both cost too much for me to care. I had GH2 and that got tired after a few months. If they ever pulled thier heads out the sand and made the instruments compatabe with each game i may be tempted.
