The multiverse (or meta-universe) is the hypothetical set of finite and infinite possible universes, including the universe in which we live. Together, these universes comprise everything that exists: the entirety of space, time, matter, energy, and the physical laws and constants that describe them. Imagine, if you will, that your favorite songs were done by a different artist in a different musical style. Well, you don't have to create a split in the Space-Time Continuum to enjoy alternate versions of these songs.
I'll endeavor to bring you songs that have alternate genre renditions for your enjoyment and to see which version, as a community, we prefer over another. The amazing thing is when we find out that the songs we grew up with were not the original version of a song after all.
Take this week's entry, Tainted Love, for existence. I knew of two versions, but upon searching for YouTube videos for the two versions I was aware of, I found this information: "Tainted Love" is a song composed by Ed Cobb, formerly of American group The Four Preps, which was originally recorded by Gloria Jones in 1964. It attained worldwide fame after being covered by Soft Cell in 1981 and has since been covered by numerous groups and artists.
So, bring on the multiverse!
Tainted Love Who did it Better? Gloria Jones (1964)
Soft Cell (1981)
Marilyn Manson (2004)
If there are any songs you'd like for me to use in the future, just tell me in the comments

I like the song. That being said, I always say it's hard to beat the original, but in this case your not only talking multi genre buy also multi generational. I like all three but being somewhat more a fan of thrash metal, I'm going to have yo go with Manson as my top favorite on this and yes I actually did know there were three different versions to this song prior to your finding them. I was quite surprised when Manson did his version and was on the fence about it, but it kind of grows on you, besides you can't too that video...lol!
