Decerto eSports

Posted 07-24-2008 at 11:32 AM

Decerto eSports is the name of the new dedicated eSports website for competitive gaming in Europe. We have many affiliations with 360 forums to provide the hub for all clan activity and game news, providing competitions, blogs, LAN and tournament coverage. With this we will be a step ahead of many other sites as we will have news first, with much more in the pipeline for the future. Decerto eSports aims to unite all European gamers under one roof, developing a community that can discuss all of the latest developments in the world of the Xbox360, as well as interviews, roster updates and previews/reviews of all of the major upcoming 360 titles.

It's also run on vBulletin, but with way less features, cause of my limited knowlage of vB. There isn't much to see though as guests need to register first.

I like the idea of your website. Since I am from the USA, there's really not too much you'd expect for me to be able to do there but you do nicely cater to everyone else. Your home page design is displayed very cleanly and your wide array of forums allow for any new member, such as myself, to simply jump into any kind of discussion. It's not too shabby.

Yeah, sorry about the European thing. We are going to provide reviews and game news though, but for eSport news it's not really interesting for people outside Europe, because we only cover European clans and events. I think we will grow big (For Europe) as our site is the only one covering every event. Next to that we have 250+ users within a few days, which is incredible for the EU Community.

Btw, i wanted to ask you if you are part of the Xbox Live Development program, because i thought only certain people had access to Xbox Live?

250+ users within a few days is incredible for any community really. Very impressive there. Keeping up with one region is actually pretty tough so I don't blame you for focusing in on Europe. In fact, a lot of the members here are located in Europe.

To answer your question, I am not a Xbox Live Community Developer, though I do plan on being one once applications are being properly answered again over at Microsoft. I am using a public feed which displays the latest games for each gamertag entered in. Having a system setup so that it will read this feed and update our own data was the tricky part. Each game in our games library has a unique ID which will be linked to a gamertag once the feed and our system sync up.

Yeah, well we could have gone with both USA and Europe, but the differences are immense, will only cause flaming etc.

As for GTN: Impressive. *Thinks he should dive into PHP a bit futher :P.
