Which figures, considering that it looks brighter than the sun. I like how there not going for "Gritty Realism" with the graphics, it makes it look like such a nice dystopian future.

I've always been a fan of the "bright Neo-Tokyo" look myself, but I also like when it's combined with the believableness of future settings like those in Ghost in the Shell. Where you feel you could actually live in the place. Mass Effect was good in terms of architecture, but in the end, I could never see it as a believable setting for residents.

well, i really enjoyed it. you are able to play the training section and part of the first level, which we've seen in trailers. the controls are interesting, LB controls jumping or upward movements, while LT controls crouching or downward movements. RB is your 180 degree turn, so just about everything you do outside of combat is controlled through your momentum and those three buttons. it takes getting used to, but i was already getting the hang of it during the second playthrough, even the more advanced moves.
i'm pretty sure i'll get this, but i may not pick it up on release, as i still have to start Fallout 3. by the time i'm done with that, i may be able to get it cheaper. definitely my type of game though.

I played it last night at a mates house on his PS3, and it was awesome.

I really enjoy the controls, the only thing that bothered me was that for grabbing onto the poles you have to hit it exactly right, it doesn't give you any room to screw up.

I'm going to get it for my 360 definitely.

i still grabbed them even when i was a little to the left or right. i never really had any issues, but combat was pretty tough to do smoothly.

Which is nice, I like it how the game doesn't really let you fight properly, so you're better of running away from the police rather than fighting them.

played the demo at my friends yesterday and after getting used the the controls i really liked it. certainly a buy for me i think. might skip gears of war 2 for a while. it was great playing the level from the first trailer. the flexibility in the levels is quite good so you could run theough a level in a different way to your friends. i found that jump/roll move a bit hard at first but i got it eventually. its satisfying to go through a level without messing up.

Update.... The playable Demo is now out, but it is kinda short and a teaser. I must say I have put a lot of attention to Mirror's Edge even if im a online fps kinda guy. I think the cover girl is sex and I wouldn't mind getting to know her. it looks kind movie capable also so i hope she makes her mark on the Silver screen.

I thought Faith was nothing special myself. She's cute, yeah, but I was for once glad that the heroine in the game looked realistically agile, rather than the old Lara Croft formula.

I got the game today and its quite fun but there is a certain ammount of trial and error that can ruin the flow, espeially as the game is based on meomentum and keeping your speed up. but at least its challenging, the AI isnt all that great but its made up for in numbers. and helicopters.

I love it! It's one of those games you play intensely for a couple hours then stop because your mind is too full of colours. Intense, brilliant and yet somehow I CAN see fault in some of it. In the end, it's impossible to make a perfect game. The only one so far that's VERY lose to being perfect is MGS4, and even then, it was less that perfect.

Mirror's edge does rock my world, I'll give you that. And I've rethought my opinion on Faith. Her attitude and kickass nature is incorrigibly attractive, making you want to care about her character, especially when she drops her badass facade and shows her gentle nature underneath.

The Good

new game mechanic that hasnt been explored in FPS mode and offers a new style

The Bad

Graphics are on and off

AI is terrible

The City feels very unpopulated - so far only you and SWAT teams live there

Theres not enough freedom to exercise your skills or fully explore a level

Not enough level diversity

In the end this game could have been so much more and become a very good GOTY contender. The first level set things up perfectly but soon after that it all just gave way to enter room, get chased, find lift, jump over here to find this door and repeat. I know shooters follow a similar pattern but at least the level design changes. I enjoy it but there is stuff missing and just a few more months of development could have fixed it.

So, has anyone vomited yet? I was totally unaware there was such a warning with this game. Check out Wired's article on it over here

Nothin so far Eric... only vomiting I'm doing is because of food poisoning... : P

I think some people might get nauseous, and I can see why, but I think the majority of gamers are fine.
