    Hard Landing - Veteran

By now, you should have a good idea what playing veteran on CoD is like. This level is another grind, but this one introduces the flamethrower, and lots of fun with it.

You start out in the swamp and head towards buddies in at a plane, once the guy sets off the grenade trap, I found that the rocks on the left of the screen with the plane in front had the best cover. 2 guys will rush directly across from this position, with more just to the left of them. Make your guys finish off the ambush and then peak around and take out the sniper way left to move on.

Next you will come to a wider area of swamp with some hiding soldiers waiting to ambush again. It will check point just before you get to this point. Once it does, run to the rock (you'll see it) and go prone behind it. I guy will come to the left of you - kill him and low crawl to where he was. This will prompt your allies to move ahead. Once they do, wait until they are clearing the mounted machine gun and then join them.

    Checkpoint

This area is a grind, but if you stay prone and use your smoke, you will eventually advance through it. There's plenty of cover and if you stay to the left and manuever through the ruined building, you will move through it much easier. You will reach a point where there are 2 machine guns in a bunker. Toss a grenade into one of the windows and then wait to get your flamethrower Wink

Burn the 2 dudes and come back.

    Checkpoint.

Clear the remaining baddies and then proceed through the bunker until you come out the other side. You will come out to a large field where Roebuck will say we have 1/2 mile to go to the airfield. At the other end of this field is an ambush hiding in the tress and the grass. I found that if I went way right and hid behind the truck, your allies will take care of most of them.

    Checkpoint.

Once you break that ambush, you have a wicked part here to overcome. You will follow a walkway that ends up with a recess to the left, and a building to the right. Stay low and move to the other side of that recess and hide behind the truck there. You will find a Garand with grenades attached there on a crate. There are so many enemies there that it's nuts. Clear the machine guns with the grenades, and then pop a smoke in front of the truck. Once it's billowed, RUN to the far left side of the building and hide behind some crates. You will have to kill a dude or two once there. Your guys will move up then.

Checkpoint. Wait until the allies have moved in, then again, RUN around the corner and into the building, and wait where that one death card was. Your guys will catch the stragglers. Checkpoint.

Go up the stairs, and here you have the long haul run to the airfield. I have no tactics for this, just wait for your guys to go, and then follow behind. They will stay with the advancing tanks and clean up as they go. You will eventual come to some scattered trenches and be ordered to take out some tanks. There are 3 of them, and take 3 rockets each to drop. You will be in a covered and checkpointed trench, so take your time and blow 'em up!

Once that is done, you will have another mad dash to a set of trenches, heavily armed, with a structure behind it shooting the AA guns. Use smoke to get into one of the trenches, preferably the left side (seems easier) and make your way through it. This is a great place to liberally use your flamethrower.

Once you make it to the base of the structure, you will get a checkpoint. From here is a rough run, but it can be done. With your flamethrower, follow the path you can only go and take out the AA guns. Go slow and low, and stay in cover as much as possible. Waiting for your guys to slow down their shooting is a great indicator that you can rush to another covered location. Once all 4 AA guns are down, park yourself in the spot between the 2nd and 3rd AA guns and have much patience. This is a great spot for the flamethrower again. You will get assaulted by many, many enemies, and I found that if I cover the wall where they climb up, after about 8 minutes, the arial support comes in and takes em out, ending the mission. If you feel frisky, jump on a mounted machine gun or an AA and take some enemies out, but be careful, they will nail you in a heart beat.

    Good luck!
