THIS IS A SOLUTION TO UNLOCKING THIS ACHIEVEMENT:
If you have been playing and you think the achievement is glitched try clearing your cashe first. Go to your X-Box settings and then to memory highlight the hard drive (or what ever device you have this saved on) then press the Y button and clear your cashe..

Start a game and if it doesn't pop in the first few pistol kills you get simply quit back to dashboard..

WARNING:
You should only do this last part if this is the very last achievement in the game that you need otherwise you may end up having to replay a lot of the game over.

Go back to Settings... Memory and then ease your game save for this game. this doesn't re-set the stats at all..and you can not earase any achievements you already have. You will however loose your save games, but if you have already beaten the game you will still have the option of choosing any battle you want, you'll just have to start at the begining for those battles.

Start any battle and complete it.. do this on easy.. to make it fast and easy.. make sure you use your pistol at least once for a kill then just like I said you must complete the mission.

After the mission is over go check your achievements. It didn't unlock on my screen, but it did unlock, unless I just missed it doing so.
