You must think of the board as a cube you are rotating around a vertical axis. The entire board you are looking at, will rotate to the far left slot on the next board. Thus if you build with your lines complete except for on the very left row. That way when the board rotates it will complete that column on the next board. Keep building with your left slot open and this will happen naturally (some people build with empty column on right, that won't work).
