This can be achieved via changing the system clock. Simply set your system clock to the last day of a previous month, and you will have access to all of the challenges and medals for that month, so you do not need to spend an entire year pursuing these achievements.

To illustrate, pretend this had been posted in January 2018. I would set my clock to 12/31/17, and do challenges until I have received the December 2017 gold medal. I would then set the clock to 11/30/17, and achieve the November 2017 gold medal. I would do this for each month until I have achieved all of the gold medals from May 2017 through December 2017 to give me "Go For The Gold." Since I would have also achieved the silvers and bronzes for these months on the way to the golds, I would then just need to achieve the silver medals from March and April 2017 to give me "Go For The Silver," and finally achieve the bronze medals from January and February 2017 to finish up "Go For The Bronze."

Note that the specific months used for this don't matter. You can get your medals in any order from any year since the game has been released. The example used was chosen for simplicity.

Exploit method (Credit to Necrophage33 at XboxAchievements.com): As of June 2017, medal requirements changed. Prior to June 2017, the required coin count for medals was 3,000/9,000/15,000 for Bronze/Silver/Gold medals. As of June 2017, these changed to 2,000/5,000/10,000. This can be exploited to give you 2 bronzes, 2 silvers, and 1 golds for 10,000 coins (or, if you pony up for premium, 2 golds at 15,000 coins). This is a bit involved, so make sure you read this through a few times to be sure you understand the process. Jumble and Wordament challenges are automatically generated and exist for any date you can set your computer to, regardless of whether or not the game even existed at that time. Crosswords, on the other hand, are manually entered, and therefore only exist from April 2017 through the present. This means that if you utilize this method for months prior to April 2017, you will only be able to do the Jumble and Wordament challenges for any given day, denying you the coins for the Crossword, as well as the daily completion bonus.

1 - Load the game up with your clock set properly.
2 - Once UWG is open, change your clock to a pre-April 2017 date.
3 - Choose a challenge (again, choose either the Wordament or Jumble challenge; Crosswords will not be available)
4 - Before completing the challenge, change your system clock back to the present day. This will lower the requirements to present levels, meaning 2,000 for bronze, etc.
5 - Complete the challenge and collect your coins.
6 - Close the program, and repeat from step 1 until you hit 2,000 coins and get your bronze.
7 - After hitting 2,000 coins, repeat steps 1-3, but do not do steps 4-6. Play challenges as normal until hitting 3,000 coins, at which point you will receive a second bronze medal.
8 - Resume completing steps 1-6 in their entirety until you hit 5,000 for your first silver.
9 - Repeat step 7 for your second silver.
10 - Back to 1-6 for your gold medal. Unless you have premium, it's not possible to accumulate enough coins for a second gold medal, since you won't have access to any Crossword puzzles or the daily bonus for completing all challenges.
11 - If you DO get premium, repeat step 7 again for your second gold.

There are different scenarios for how you should use this info, assuming you're pursuing a full 100% completion.

Scenario 1 (premium): With Premium, you'll have enough coins to get 2 gold on each month. This means that, after doing steps 1-11 4 times, you'll have your 8 gold. Repeat steps 1-9 1 additional time for your 10 silvers. Finally, repeat 1-6 one last time for your 12 bronzes.

Scenario 2 (no premium): Since, without premium, you can only access 1 gold per month, it does not make sense to use this method for all your required medals. By the time you reach your 8 golds, you'll have accumulated 16 bronzes and silvers. To cut down on the amount of opening, closing, and clock switching you're required to do, my suggestion is to just do 6 regular post-June 2017 months for a total of 6 golds, silvers, and bronzes. Once you have these, THEN use the above method twice, for a total of 8 golds, 10 silvers, and 10 bronzes. You can then just do steps 1-6 to pick up your last 2 bronzes.

Keep in mind that this is just my recommendation. You absolutely CAN use this exploit and just end up with 6 extra silvers and 4 extra bronzes. It won't hurt anything. So if it works better for you to just get into a rhythm and do all the medals this way, go for it. My reasons for my recommendation are: 1, without access to crosswords and daily bonuses, it will take a lot longer to get to the required 10k for that gold; and 2, closing out the program and switching the clock every single challenge is very tedious.
