As of today, Deadlight is moving the limelight from Hitman: Absolution onto itself in the Free for Gold deal. From April 16 to April 31, Deadlight will be a free downloadable game. It's an arcade game with 30 achievements for 400 gamerscore. I personally have never played it or really seen it, but I hear it's pretty good, but who cares, free game!

Note that you MUST have Gold membership. If you have a free silver account, you'll have to pay the full $15 until you upgrade to Gold membership.

Also, if you missed the Hitman: Absolution 100% discount, it's too late, and you have to pay full price.

Oh man! All the orange soda spilled out of my cereal.
I wasn't interested in Hitman, but I will be picking this one up.

More often then not I already own most of the Free For Gold games. This is yet another example.

I' rather them offer Arcade Games over Retail Games, since I have cut back on most of them and refuse to pay for anything over $5.
I'm really enjoying this game so far. Just dropped two hours in pure fun. Great graphics, great plot, easy to learn, but tough to master controls - I never would have touched it if it wasn't free, which makes me wonder what else I've missed lately...
Deadlight was a really cool game. I highly recommend it to anyone- get it while it's free.

The Games with Gold deals have been pretty good. I played Shoot Many Robots when it was free to download. I hadn't even heard of that game before it was up for free. I played it almost exclusively for about a month. Soooo much crazy fun.
Really? I got it but never started it...guess I have to now!! Deadlight is really spectacular, and even replays are a blast. I'm working through it for 100%, so I'm going slow. And no, no guides (yet), just trying to see how well I do. I got 99% on act 1 without a guide. (damn it lol)
I think one of my favorite parts about Deadlight is how most, if not all, of the achievements are song titles! Am I the only one who noticed this? There are a few I can think of from the top of my head:

Jump by Van Halen
Land Down Under by Men at Work
Wanted Dead or Alive by Bon Jovi
Welcome to the Jungle by Guns 'n Roses
Knockin' on Heaven's Door by Guns 'n Roses or Bob Dylan. I honestly prefer GnR's version Big Grin
I Ran (So Far Away) by A Flock of Seagulls
Under Pressure by Queen
Another One Bites the Dust by Queen
Tainted Love by Soft Cell
Come Sail Away by Styx
I Want It All by Karmen
Let There Be Rock by AC/DC
Never Gonna Give You Up by Rick Astley

I didn't look any of these up, I'm just so euphoric how I know so many of these songs Big Grin

Holy crap, you're totally right! I haven't loaded up since Monday, but I think the game is turning out to be one of my favorites.

I love zombie culture in general, but I hate the latest iterations of zombie games (Dead Island, for example). This game, which requires both skill, luck, and a bit of puzzle-solving knowledge, is more like how I think we'd be forced to survive in a zombie infested world.

Maybe. I dunno. I'm having fun. That's all that matters.

It was a great game, great graphics, made me jump all the time, the only thing I really disliked about the game was that it made you constantly run back and fourth to the same spots over and over again... Although I understand that due to game memory limitations this has to be done, it still none the less got on my nerves.. I guess that's why it took me so long to complete it...or any other game kinda like that...ie Borderlands... I liked the simplicity of this game, but really wanted more from it? Its definitely interesting take on the genre.

I couldn't get past the demo. Part of it was a strange dizziness reaction I got when playing it, and the other part was semi-bizarre controls. Maybe that was the demo. I have it sitting on my hard drive, maybe I'll play the real game and see if it's any better. I just didn't connect to it as a participant like you do in Deadlight. Does the character develop more as you go? A drunk party-goer and I have nothing in common lol
There are analog and digital controls. You were likely using the awkward but immersive analog controls that require you to swing weapons with the thumbstick rather than the trigger.
