From Comic to Film

Entertainment

Went to see Winter Soldier with some friends tonight, thought it was great. I wouldn't put it above Avengers like a lot of media outlets seem to be hyping it up to be but I would probably put it in the top 3 marvel productions movies. Got trailers to spider-man and Guardians, not sure what to think of Guardians since the trailer makes it look like a pure comedy while Spider-man looks very action packed.

A Guardians trailer you say? Hmmm though I don't like seeing big block buster movies day one (too many people) unless its Star Wars then I may be pushing this to next weekend too..depending..

ATTENTION: There are no spoilers in my post but read on with caution

Saw Captain America and I was not disappointed at all! I loved all the references and easter eggs, which I'm sure I missed a few but man I hope some more good films will come out of this.. They mentioned someone (won't spoil it) but I here he is supposed to get his own movie too.. Let's hope this was a subtle way to introduce him.. My Humble opinion, Better than Iron Man III sand very close to Avengers Esque action.. keep it up MARVEL.. but lets not burn us out..

Chock full of comic movie trailers too.. I saw what you meant about the Guardians of the Galaxy ...shame.. but I think it may draw.. Looked like the Kree Skrrull war may happen?

Loved the Godzilla Trailer and was peeked about the X-Men Days of Future past...but then I see this

Link to pictures of new Quicksilver...(shudders) Hopefully that is NOT his final costume.. on other news saw the new Avengers Quicksilver also, looked way better.. Just saying.. hers link to that one:

I hope both films do great, which I'm sure they will.. The Bat/Superman Movie.....I'm going but with the announcements they've made so far, it doesn't sound promising..

Next up Spider-Man I guess.. The huge lobby display shows Spidey in action against Electro and on the jumbo torn behind them is pictures of to more villains....

They have been talking about his movie for 18 months. Even Johnny Depp was rumored to be cast as him. They started acknowledging the rumors when they officially announced the Netflix Series and Mini-Series.
I wondered why they were releasing Cap so soon(I figured it would be after Spider-man in may) and Agents of Shield answered that question. The episode that aired tonight is happening at the same time as the movie and has a decent amount of spoilers so if you are time shifting the show to watch later it would be a good idea to go see cap before you watch it.

I'm Thi king in Marvel phase 3, with the major characters being firmly established as significant movie presents they can now start introducing lesser known characters, but its still shaky ground.. I'm thinking he'll have at least more mention in or around Avengers 3 and or have a cameo or the end credits cameo.. Depp wouldn't a bad choice, but he wouldn't be my first choice either, he has a way of twisting things to suite him...and I don't think people would like his twist on that particular character...he's just... Idk...Depp..don't get me wrong I like him and he certainly has a range better than most actors..but still. I think someone else would be better. First thought that comes to mind is that guy who played Bella's dad in Twilight.....yea I saw the last one Breaking Dawn 2...I got suckered into it, but you know it wasn't half bad...take out the whole imaginary fight scene and the movie would blow, so I don't think I'll be catching up on the entire series...lol.

That's also why you won't be seeing the Beast it Wolverine join the Avengers in screen anytime soon.

Good news though, the rights to Daredevil have been brought back to the Disney/Marvel universe and there is significant talk of a reboot.

Well a bunch of spider-man news broke yesterday. Sony is really going to make the superhero genre very crowded. A Venom movie, A Sinister Six movie (No release dates on these two), Amazing Spider-man 3 in 2016, and Amazing Spider-man 4 in 2018. They plan to follow MCU's theme of a shared timeline through out all the films.
Well I knew about a reboot for DD just didn't here it was going to be TV, makes sense.. I knew about the Power Man and Iron Fist being developed for for TV I thought it was said they wanted to spin them off of SHIELD, as well as Agent 13, bit I thought she was going to be part of the same show...interesting that they want to saturate TV like that...i guess we'll see.. The other guy I have not herd of a Netflix series that's news to me! I think it may be the right way for now...I'd still like to see him in the big screen and I'm not talking about the tv in my room.

So, they will not air on TV, they will be on Netflix. But, they will be set in the same MCU, with crossover possibilities from AoS, Avengers, Guardians, etc.

Blade and Dr. Strange or in talks for the same treatment, basically, if this works, they will also get their series done...

The press release is definitely 4 series, 15 episodes each (60 1-hour episodes), with a mini-series involving all four characters.

Just saw days, not sure I would put it as the best x-men movie yet but it is competing for it. Looking forward to what others think once they have seen it.
I have really been on the fence about going to see this one and really leaning to the not. I did see Captain America and I don't think they could top it. Plus Guardians of the Galaxy is looking really good. Anything not Marvel Studio is going to be a tough sell for me to go see. Already pass on Amazing Spider-man.
