You probably meant to say you have an eclectic taste in music, meaning diverse and spanning many genres and eras.

I love this! Awesome music in that, about half of which I have on my phone. I guess I need to look up the ones I don't know, eh?

Slayer is my favorite band, hasn't always been, but after I matured a bit and realized I wasn't going to hell for listening to them, lol.. They are just so profound and misunderstood.. but powerful..something about thrash that just makes you feel good.

I grew up on my Fathers music, oldies rock and my sister started to date this dude who introduced me to Quite Riot and AC/DC.. things just went from there.. and then one day I listened to Metallica and Megadeth... that changed me forever.

I have always listened to metal. The woman that found me under a rock played her metal records for me when I was a little thing. I progressed to NIN when I was an annoying teen. In my mid twentys I progressed to heavy metal. My favorite two are Dethklok and Slipknot!
I'm a big alternative guy. Pretty much anything Seattle Sound/grunge. Smashing Pumpkins, Gorillaz, System of a Down.
I voted for Heavy Metal.
Crowbar, Pantera, Mastodon, The Dillinger Escape Plan, King 810, Hatebreed, Drown, Nailbomb, Slipknot, Suicide Silence, Rammstein, Nine Inch Nails, Whitechapel, Lamb of God, Max-era Sepultura, Upon a Burning Body, and Slayer.

I like most hardcore dubstep. My favorites are Bratkilla and Excision. I don't mind Skrillex and don't understand why he is hated by so many in the electronic music industry.

I like underground hip-hop like Aesop Rock (which is excellent live), Cage, Gnarls Barkley, and Sadistik.

Outlaw country is awesome, as well as southern rock. I like Johnny Cash and Hank III. I also dig ZZ Top and Lynyrd Skynyrd - I hate the song Sweet Home Alabama though.

Since I'm a father to my little girl I now have an affinity for female singers, my favorite being Lana Del Rey. For some odd reason I also like Taylor Swift. I can't stand Rihanna.

Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, The Guess Who, Pink Floyd, Blue Oyster Cult, Led Zeppelin were all perfect.

On my entire honeymoon my wife and I played Bob Marley, but I don't know any other reggae bands
