I see them all on the big screen, even at home...

I'm eager to see avengers 3. anything with the infinity gauntlet intrigues me. its my favorite part in the marvel movies, the incorporation of the infinity stones/gems.

And, with Civil War being contained within a single Captain America movie, I would expect it to be like the comics the same way Age of Ultron was like the comics. (not very much, beside title and basic premise)

Since the MCU != the comics, and the Stones != gems, I don't know if that is where the Soul Stone will be. I might be, and it would work well, and if so, I would have expected that would be found out during Captain Marvel. Except, Captain Marvel is now AFTER Infinity War part 1 (and you would expect all the stones to be together by then). So, I guess Guardians of the Galaxy 2 will introduce the Soul Stone?

However, the cocoon, the contents of the cocoon, and the location of the Soul Gem do not all become connected until after the Infinity Gauntlet series, so...

My theory:

The Eye of Agamotto will be an Infinity Stone. Much like the rest of the MCU, they have combined powerful cosmic artifacts together. In the comics, the Tesseract (Cosmic Cube) and the Space Gem are different. But, in the MCU, they are one. So, Dr. Strange's Eye of Agamotto would make sense as the Time Stone (Soul would work, too). If Thor: Ragnarok involved a stone, then Time makes more sense here than Soul, and Dr. Strange would have the Soul Stone. I expect neither Black Panther nor Spider-man to introduce a stone (much like Ant-Man did not, either), nor do I expect a stone in Civil War. So, I expect Dr. Strange (Time) and Guardians 2 (Soul), or Dr. Strange (Soul) and Thor 3 (Time) to be the final stones.

But, that's just my theory, and I have been right on some, and wrong on some.

And it would make more sense on the Soul gem being introduced during GotG 2. But then again I'm referring to comics and the MCU, it seems the MCU is doing things a little differently which isn't bad. I do like your theory though on Dr Stranges Eye being a stone, whether that be Soul or Time. Either way I hope Adam is involved bringing down Thanos in the end.

In issue one of Thanos Quest (the series directly before Infinity Gauntlet) Thanos takes the first of the gems from the In-Betweener. This is the Soul Gem, and had been in the In-Betweeners possession for a long time. Warlock takes possession of it after the gauntlet is dismantled.

and there is also this theory behind the MCU gems and Adam Warlock (H.I.M.) linking to Soul Gem

Speaking of which, any thoughts on who Quill's father will end up being? I know who it is in the comics, but considering the way the Infinity Gauntlet storyline is building, introducing him seems unlikely. My guess is Adam for many reasons, but I'm curious to know what you guys think.

I think Thanos would be a more interesting father to Star Lord rather than Warlock.
I can't understand why Thanos would have a quickie with some Earth girl when he's so obsessed with Death, even if she ends up not appearing in the MCU. The comments from the Nova Corps make it seem like it's not someone they know about already, too.
Having Warlock be the father seems like an ideal way to introduce such an important figure, and perhaps the soul gem, without making him show up out of nowhere.

There is a theory here on a possibility of StarLords father. Just a few hints that it might not be Thanos, Adam, Starhawk, or Starfox.
