For those of us who've played and those of you who are playing Gucamelee on Xbox one, do you love it or hate it? Or do you hate to love it?

For me, I love it! I wrote a review about it on this site, and within it I detailed what I enjoyed about it. To save you time and energy I simply wrote that I loved the difficulty of the game as it made me feel accomplished when I got past an area. The whole game isn't hard, but certain points and achievements can have you scratching your head...or breaking a controller, so I've heard. I don't have that type of anger lol

I got my 1k on the game a few days ago and have to say it was a great accomplishment.
Video games are like life, difficult, frustrating, but most of all, they're fun and rewarding when you slow down and enjoy them.
I whole heartedly agree. I'm not one to play a lot of "Metriod-Vania" games, but I found this one incredibly enjoyable. It is chock full of references and humor, while still providing a challenge and reward to exploration. Easy traversal, an intricate combo system, and powers that make you feel powerful while not making it too easy, all combine to make this an easy game to recommend... and a straight NO BRAINER as it is free for the next 18 days.

I have yet to beat the game on hard, but that would be my last achievement, I'm going to go for it. I look forward to Drinkbox Studios embracing platforms outside of the PS Vita.
Yup.

I think you missed the, "It's a free game and it wasn't that bad" option... Only played it a little. My schedule has been a little skewed, but it really didn't grab me for the couple hours I played it.
If you asked me in my first 5 hours I would have told you I love it. Now though some of these platforming sections are getting frustrating as hell and my progress is grinding to a halt. I still have to choose love it thought because I don't really hate the game.
Fshguy, I know you probably have an insane backlog of games (like a lot of us) but I would say give it another go =) once you start unlocking more and more of the powers, it gets even better.

I guess I just enjoyed the whole Luchador, Hispanic culture, and loads of references to old gaming.

If not for all that...it's an easy 700pts or so...then you need to work for a few achievements.

Fsh, I fully understand the addiction to wanting badges haha. I have linked all my known accounts just for badges. I've been trying the "secret" badges where you need to put a code in the search box, but it isn't taking any of the codes I put in..sadly.

Badges are fun to plan out and get.

Gamification is the word you are looking for. Entire businesses are built around it.
