Congrats, Far! Hard to believe with 485k you've never scored 10k in a week before! Must be Mr Consistent.

I rent my games from gamefly. So play them when I get them, I cant save up games. I just got my Japanese xbox in January. So I was able to save up some easy games.
I need to look into this Japanese xbox thingy...seems like I am missing a whole easy market! Congrats Far!
Video games are like life, difficult, frustrating, but most of all, they're fun and rewarding when you slow down and enjoy them.
Congrats! That\s a lot of Jp games in one week, lol. I remember doing 4-5 in a day during a competition, and felt like my eyes were bleeding from reading all of the kanji in the guides for hours.

@Zombie - or you could come to AF and play them all there. The cost of a console, plus all the games (which are stupid expensive even used) would probably be almost the same as a flight over. Wink

Without his guides, none of us would have a clue and these wouldn't be easy games.

All that said, the US console has WAY more than 30 games that are less than 5 hours and nothing beats Avatar still. Contrast and Another World are two US games you can beat in less than an hour too. Only problem is, we've all long since played though and didn't let them build up for 8 years. That's why I looks like getting a Japanese console is the path to easy points. Imagine if you had a clean tag, I'd bet you could get 30k in a week. In your first year you would have no problem getting to 200k if you had access to all the games. Hell back in 2009 I cranked out 34,535 in a month when Bozack had his first competition (this is pre-AF). Created a clean tag for that one and you can look if you are interested (Kaens GP). Imagine being Japanese and saying, "OMG, the US consoles are so easy, just buy anything with 2k6 in the title, they are all less than an hour and they even have this one game you can have a 1000 in LITERALLY less time than it took to boot the game!"

there are games I haven't played yet which range in price from $30 to $70.
Yeah, they've dropped in price quite a bit over the last 6-8 months. My console was a little over $400 w/shipping at the time, and most of my games were in the $50-70 range shipped.

I think the price drop is due to the One arrival. Is that a slim or the old Brick style? $300 isn't bad if it's the slim..
Life goal own all retail X-Box games. My collection: X-Box: 535, X-Box 360: 1204, One: 178

I don't think I'll ever get a pal xbox. Everything is to hard to find and too expensive.
Are there actually any good Japanese games?

I have a pre-order of Destiny in at the local shop. The next time I am there I will look at their selection.

Aren't EU and Japan region 2? If so, wouldn't I just need a EU xbox to play both? Or are the regions different for video games than DVDs? I am new to the cross region stuff, but I am very interested at the option.
