Anyone have a badass gaming pc??

UPDATE: The PC is built and running, just need to install windows on it and the drivers and such and I have built my first PC! yay!!!

I am currently building a gaming/music/all around pc. Here is a link to my components I will be using: http://amzn.com/w/1BA0RMIX2NP4Z This list is probably empty now.

This is a budget build around the $600-$700 range. I don't need anything fancy or super good at the moment but using the components I think I will be able to get by and have room for improvements in the near future. If anyone has a badass pc, I am open for suggestions on the current list I have. I have most of this stuff already just need a few more things and the building shall begin. Post pics of your own pc if you have them. I will post a pic of mine when I have finished. Thanks

I want to build me a gaming PC again. I use this site http://pcpartpicker.com/ to mess around with building one.
Your card is overpriced, especially for not being a dual fan model.
The r9 280 or GTX 760 are good options for around the same price, just be sure to get a good OC model from brands like Sapphire, Asus, MSI, or Gigabyte.
I would personally go for an Intel processor like an i5; they cost more, but are typically better than AMD on all but low-end computers. You don't need to buy Windows, either. That will free up money for a better GPU or CPU.
The mouse can vary a lot from person to person, but I really like the Logitech G400. Good for palm and fingertip grips, and it has a couple extra buttons if you ever want to map them for games.

Check out sites like Newegg for better deals and reviews. They even have combos for buying certain components together. Though I did find my case cheaper on Amazon, many of my other parts came from Newegg.

Maybe you should reword you statement.

To Preludecris, using a site like Tigerdirect.com (or similar) you can legally purchase OEM versions of an OS at a highly discounted price when purchased with many pieces of hardware (I purchased many OSes in the past for 1/2 price or less with purchase of RAM, or HDD, or Video Card), so, you may be able to double dip on your purchase.

I use an i7 laptop and an i5 Surface Pro, and I would highly recommend going at least i5, but i7 would be superb if it is within your budget. I would honestly drop the optical drive. If you are doing PC gaming, you are going to find yourself on Steam and Origin and similar, all digital, the optical drive just consumes power and space. Yeah, it is only $25, but, if it isn't a Blu-ray drive, you'll likely find yourself never using it. And for performance, I would recommend at least a Hybrid Drive if not full SSD (man SSD is AWESOME!!!). That WILL add costs to your machine, but, you could dual drive your machine, putting something like 128GB or 256GB SSD for OS and game files, with a 1TB traditional for saves, movies, music, etc.

(Side note: I was exclusively AMD until my most recent machines. The iSeries Intel chips are really top notch, and for the first time since the original Pentiums, Intel is worth the extra money.)
I can't control what he chooses to do, but there are far too many options for getting an operating system on your computer that don't involve paying full price for a copy of the latest Windows. There are discounts available for certain demographics such as students (upgrades, at least) and numerous Linux distros as well. Don't take offense at your own inferences.

I can't personally speak to SSD quality as far as make and model go, but I wouldn't get one on that budget anyway, especially because it includes a monitor and peripherals.
http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_no...d-keywords=SSD

SSD would add about $100 to your overall cost if added in addition to your 1TB HDD. Would improve boot time, loading of main applications, and overall performance, and still allow 1TB of storage beyond that.

I also just noticed you have the 32-Bit version of Windows 8 in your wishlist. While I am not familiar with those AMD processors, you want to make sure you get a 64-Bit Processor AND the 64-Bit version of Windows: http://www.amazon.com/Windows-8-1-Sy...ref=pd_cp_sw_1 ($7 cheaper than the one you have selected!!!)

The reason for this? 32-Bit systems can ONLY USE 4GB of TOTAL Memory. That is COMBINED from ALL memory sources. So, that 8GB of RAM you have on there, well, that's already 100% more than that OS can even see. But, on top of that, you have a 2GB video card, well, that is also memory. So, that means that about 2GB of the 8GB of RAM you will install on that system will actually even be seen...

Note: Wondering how we arrive at that 4GB limit? Here's the math for 32-bit systems:
2^32 = 4,294,967,296 bytes 4,294,967,296 / (1,024 x 1,024) = 4,096 MB = 4GB
It's different for 64-bit:
2^64 = 18,446,744,073,709,551,616 18,446,744,073,709,551,616 / (1,024 x 1,024) = 16EB (exabytes)
- source and info HERE (Yes, it is an older article, about Vista, but, the 32-Bit/64-Bit math is the same)

Oh wow thanks futiles. I didn't realize I added the 32 bit version of windows. That would've sucked... So your saying I need to ditch the video card as well?

I honestly don't keep up with gaming component makes, brands, stats, etc.. So, that might be a fantastic card or it might be crap. I will defer to your judgment based on research and reviews. I know specs and math, and I just saw a glaring hole. One that would have SUCKED. I assume that 6-core AMD is a 64-bit CPU, but, I could not confirm it on the Amazon specs.
Oh ok, I see what your saying. Basically I chose these components based off a recommendation from a PC building website for a budget build "to get me by" type scenerio. These are the parts they have recommended for me and my budget. The only things I have purchased are the case, optical drive, and power supply because those are the basics. I still have mixed feelings on the central parts I need, motherboard, CPU, ram etc etc. This is why I haven't purchased them yet.

Well after doing the research on the system builder and the full version. The only real difference is the licensing. All in all if downloading on a clean computer they are basically the same windows OS.

Also the AMD CPU I have chosen is 64 bit. So I don't see any issues there. I do agree with obisidian as in getting a better video card with two fans looking into the gtx 760.

As long as you get 64-Bit full, you'll be happy.
Another reason I mentioned Newegg is that you can get a feel for which brands are solid for a specific GPU model thanks to the votes. For the 760, MSI is supposedly quieter than EVGA, but other factors like warranty might influence you, too.

I see SSD's as a choice between having one or a video card that is a full tier higher. SSD's are easy to add to your build at a later date if you end up with extra cash down the road.

I know waiting may not be an option, but it's worth pointing out that Windows 10 should be out by the middle of next year. It looks to be the best of both 7 and 8.
thanks guys. I really appreciate the help. if you check out the link now I added an asus gtx760 video card. I read reviews last night on this and seems to be a bang for my buck right now and for 15 bucks more than the one I had before ill take it. I was planning on adding an SSD or two later on down the road but for now ill stick with the one I added to the list. plus I have 2 external HD ill be using which hold all my music for my DJing that I do. I read about windows 10 coming out but I don't think I want to jump into that just yet. I guess they are skipping windows 9? lol

Options - Don't use Windows 9 or Make sure every developer out there issued a patch/update to their code. I worked through the Y2K patching, and that will never happen again if companies can avoid it. So, Windows 10!
You can get Metro 2033 for free too! Nice way to start your PC collection:

Humble is a company that does some "Pay what you want" bundles. This just happens to be free.
