C64 Mat posted a guide for Cleaning Up.

Break into any standard residential house, and head to the bathroom. It will almost always have a toilet brush. Take it, and escape the house.

Now head to somewhere populated, such as a carpark, children's park or even a graveyard. Equip the "weapon", making sure you don't have it holstered (eww) and go to town on the peeps.

Of course, it helps if you've upgraded your melee attack for this one, but as long as you have enough people, time isn't an issue.

C64 Mat posted a guide for Stick Up Artist.

The first island is good for grinding this achievement, should you need to after completing the story. It may also help towards the Crime Doesn't Pay achievement, IF you find valuables.

    Method:

Drive to the area where the Endtimes outdoor supplies shop is. Rob it. Now run east to the Beanz coffee shop. Rob it. Finally run south west to the bar. Rob it. Run north back to Endtimes, which should now be open for business again.

    Rinse and repeat!

As an aside, you don't have to actually take anything from the store. You just have to successfully kill / incapacitate the owner so the building blueprint shows up.

C64 Mat posted a guide for Gone In 60 Seconds.

No real strategy here, just make sure you're always stealing parked cars.

If you need to grind this out at the end of the game, load up your inventory with melee weapons and / or bricks and stones, then run circles around the car dealership. Break into each and every car, then immediately jump out and boost the next one.

By the time you've done a full circle, the first load of vehicles should have been replaced with fresh, locked ones. You can find several mallets and crowbars as you circle around, too.

C64 Mat posted a guide for Take Them For A Ride.

An easy achievement which you can get as soon as you start the game proper having escaped from prison.

Look at your map, and you'll note a spray shop very close to where you start.

At the north end of the spray shop, a tow truck is parked up. Steal it, and drive it left out into the road. As soon as you see a car drive past, catch up to it and pull in front of it, hitting X Button when you're aligned with the vehicle to tow it.

    Achievement unlocked!

If for any reason the truck isn't there, one can always be found outside Dwayne's.

C64 Mat posted a guide for Horror of the Santa Maria.

    Easy!

Dive into the sea or any body of water deep enough to keep your head under water.

Hold Right Trigger to dive beneath the surface, and keep diving until you run out of oxygen. At this point, you'll start losing health - keep diving! When your health runs out, you'll get WASTED and your achievement will unlock.

C64 Mat posted a guide for Lucky Spinner.

You can unlock this as soon as you finish the Flight School, which takes place at the airplane graveyard in the desert, and is part of the main storyline.

You'll get a call from Woozie, the blind Triad you helped out in San Fierro, who's taken up residence in the Four Dragons Casino at the south end of the strip in Las Venturas.

As soon as this happens, you'll have access to your first casino, and thus access to your first opportunity to unlock various gambling related achievements.

First, let's max your gambling skill to 100% to make getting the related achievements easier:
    • Save outside the Four Dragons Casino and head inside
    • Find the Video Poker machine on the left near the Wheel of Fortune which takes $10k bets
    • Increase the wager to five times the stake value ($50k)
    • Play the poker game repeatedly until you get the notification you've reached "Whale" level, which allows you to loan up to $1m from the casino
    • Go back outside and save your game, to retain your maximum gambling skill

Now we can get on with the rest of the achievement!

    How to unlock:

Head to the Wheel of Fortune, located within its own walled in area inside the casino. If the wheel on the left has a croupier by it, you can play! Now, place a few thousand dollars each on the $10 and above betting squares and spin the wheel. If it lands on one of the same values as the betting squares you placed your thousand on, then your achievement will unlock. Even if it shows a negative loss on the screen, you'll still unlock it, because the number on the screen shows you your total win/loss across all the squares you bet on. If you lose, either reload your save or simply try again if you have the cash to spare.

C64 Mat posted a guide for Swiss Army Strife.

    What do I need?

The weapons you will need to use are:
    1. Pistol
    2. Silenced Pistol
    3. Desert Eagle
    4. Shotgun
    5. Sawn-off Shotgun
    6. Combat Shotgun
    7. TEC-9
    8. Micro-SMG
    9. MP5
    10. AK47
    11. M4

Any weapon not listed is NOT needed, as you skill with them cannot be upgraded. These include things such as the Rocket Launcher, Sniper Rifle, melee weapons and thrown weapons.

    Method:
    • Gather / buy plenty of ammo for the weapon skill you're levelling
    • Park a vehicle, or several vehicles, in an owned garage
    • Allow the garage door to close
    • Step forwards until the door opens
    • Unleash on your vehicle(s) until it bursts into flames, but does NOT explode
    • Quickly step back and allow the garage door to close. This will repair the vehicle to its original state
    • Repeat until skill is maxed
    • Switch to next weapon and repeat from the third step above

Remember that weapons of the same type share the same slot, so (for example) you cannot carry a Pistol and a Silenced Pistol at the same time. If you're having trouble getting a particular weapon, the easiest way is to play more story missions until Ammunition begins to stock them.uch easier than, say, stealing MP5s from SWAT teams.

C64 Mat posted a guide for Yes I Speak English.

An easy achievement at any stage of the game:
    • Find a taxi. There're a few different models, but they're all yellow four doors
    • Press Directional Pad (Up) to start the Taxi Driver mode
    • Find a blue square on your minimap - this is a passenger waiting to be picked up
    • Driver them to their destination, marked by a yellow triangle on the minimap
    • Go quickly but safely, as you have a time limit
    • Continue until you have delivered 50 passengers. Doesn't have to be done in one go!

C64 Mat posted a guide for Bike or Biker.

Even without a high bike skill and subsequently falling off a lot, I found the NRG challenge by far the easiest to complete due to the more compact location.

    How to unlock the challenge
Once you have access to San Fierro, the second city in the game after you win the garage from Catalina, you can access this challenge at any time.

    Where to find the challenge
Bring up the map and zoom in on your San Fierro garage save point. Now scroll the map a little to the east, and you'll see a diagonal dock just north of the airport runway. This is the dry dock. Drive / run here, and you'll find the dry dock itself - it looks like a huge bowl or half pipe in the concrete. You can't miss it! To the west end of the dry dock is a roof, underneath which stands a motorbike. Get on it, and the challenge begins!

    How to complete the challenge
There are 18 red rings (corona) to drive through. Each one adds ten seconds to your time allowed to complete the challenge, and you must drive through them all to do so.

Start by driving around the perimeter of the dry dock, collecting the ones easily reachable at ground level, including the one on the loch at the opposite end from where you start.

Next, drop into the dock itself and again, collect the easy ones on the floor of the dock and the one slightly up one side.

Now comes the only tricky bit - the ones in the air! You must use the dock like a half pipe, accelerating up the walls to leap clear and hit the rings. The collision detection is very generous, thank goodness! Start by going length ways along the dock from the loch end, and drive up the centre of the end curve picking up the one in the covered roof. Now drop back in and do the same again, but this time veer left for one and then right for the other - two separate jumps - instead of going straight up the end wall.

Finally, collect the ones floating above the side walls using the same method, except you have a shorter run up because you're driving across the width of the dock.

TAKE YOUR TIME - it's far better to line up your run towards the Corona and hit it first time than it is to panic about the time limit and miss it repeatedly.

Finally, if you fail - you probably will the first time - and the bike doesn't respawn, you can park the NRG in the same place you found it, alight, get back on again and the challenge will restart.

Completing it will give you the achievement, a paltry some of cash, and increase your bike skill!

C64 Mat posted a guide for A Really Big Deal.

What the game doesn't tell you is that you also cannot die.

    So that's:

    Ultra Hard difficulty
    Zero deaths
    100% kills
    100% secrets

The Automap you can collect on each level will show you exactly how many secrets you have to find, and how many kills you need to get.

Obviously, the earlier levels are easier for this, as the secrets can usually all be found without the need for upgrades such as the Double Jump.

Bear in mind that some of the enemies may not spawn until you're almost exiting the level.

I'll update this guide with a level specific walkthrough when I get the time.

C64 Mat posted a guide for Clean As A Whistle.

Simple achievement, obtainable on the first part of the map you have access to after starting the game "proper".

Make sure you have a car. Now drive around until you see a black rubbish bag - they're all over, outside stores, houses, trailers etc.

Walk up to the bag and press X to pick it up. Drag it to the boot (trunk) of your car, and press the button again to put it inside.

Now drive your car to the very north east point of the island on the top left of the map, to the north of the telephone icon and the time trial icon which are there. You'll know you're in the right place because of the garbage trucks outside the dump.

Drive into the dump site, retrieve the bag from the car by approaching the rear of the vehicle and pressing X, and drop the bag on any of the huge piles of rubbish which litter the place.

Now pat yourself on the bag for doing a good deed and enjoy your achievement!

C64 Mat posted a guide for Forager.

Method may have been patched, but they spawn all over the game world wherever there's grass or fields.

You can get this right near the start of the game.

You'll play a short prologue where you have to go and meet your father. Following this, you'll end up in prison and find yourself escaping.

Run towards the objective marker on the map, shaped like a blue hexagon. When you reach the objective, you'll get a tutorial about breaking into places using a crowbar and be tasked with breaking into a sewage pipe.

On the left and right of the pipe are two plots of mushrooms - sprint to the left one, eat it, sprint to the right, eat it and the first one will have respawned. Continue this for a minute or so until the achievement pops. Simple!

C64 Mat posted a guide for Perfect Line.

Here's the fastest way to unlock three of the time trial achievements:

Time trials are marked on the map by a purple stopwatch icon, and in game by a purple flare.

You need to head to the time trial on the far left of the first map area, in the middle. It's roughly NW of the J shaped lake.

The time trial itself is activated by pressing Y on the purple flare next to the telephone.

The time limit here is quite tight, but the vehicle you're given handles very well and the track is short and free of obstacles. I got gold on my first attempt without knowing the racing line, so it shouldn't take more than two shots at it, and the whole thing only lasts 40 seconds.

Just for fun, let me know your winning time in the comments below, and how many attempts it took you!

Bear in mind that if you're struggling with driving, you can always change the camera to follow the car. I preferred the default, especially for a short track such as this, but it's pure personal preference.

C64 Mat posted a guide for You're on your way.

    Likely your first unlock.

Every time you kill an enemy, and occasionally with a special pick-up, you'll gain experience which is tracked in the top right of the screen. This contributes to growing your character level.

You'll unlock character level 2, and this achievement, a few screens into the game.

If you're wanting to get this out of the way ASAP, say for a Bean Dive, you can repeatedly enter and leave the first cave shortly after you leave your house (cn_up to enter caves and doorways). The enemies will respawn, giving you an infinite supply of coins and experience.

Easy peasy - can be unlocked in local MP.

When one player goes down, they'll get a countdown pizza above their head. During this time, another player can walk over to them and hold LB to revive them.

This will unlock the achievement on the PRIMARY PROFILE ONLY, and will avoid the downed player losing a life!

C64 Mat posted a guide for Resource sharing.

**IT DOESN'T MATTER IF YOU MISS A CART! LIKE THE COLLECTIBLES, YOU CAN GO BACK TO ENTER THEM THROUGH CHAPTER SELECT, IN ANY ORDER**

There are FIVE CARTS in total full of ingredients, and you need to enter them all. The first one is more or less unmissable. The rest have to be sought out.

    CART 1, chapter 7:
You'll come to a point where you are given a recipe for Luminosa, and have use it on the rats to unblock the path. The cart is behind where the rats were, in plain view.

    CART 2, chapter 9:
You'll reach a point where you'll learn the recipe for Odoris, which lures rats. After using it on a person for the first time, luring a group of rats from a wooden bridge, cross over to an area with a soldier in front of you next to a lamp, and another soldier to the right hunched over a table. Ignore those soldiers and go left down the alley, turning left at the end and climbing over the stone wall. Use Luminosa on the penned in rats and proceed forwards to the cart.

    CART 3, chapter 10:
After rescuing a story-related character, you'll eventually reach an outdoor area where you'll be taught Exstinguis, a concoction which puts out fires. Use it on the fire near the guard to proceed, go down the stairs and turn right, staying low beneath the hedgerow. Use Exstinguis on the soldier's torch, Odoris to lure rats to him if necessary, then follow around sticking by the right hand wall. Climb over the wooden fence, and turn right to climb another one, instead of heading towards the burning doorway. Use more Luminosa on the rats beyond to reach the cart.

    CART 4, chapter 12:
In the rat infested garden immediately before the section where you defend the mobile firepit, turn left to see the Alchemist Cart. Use Ignis to light the lamp next to the cart, then Luminosa to clear a path to it.

    CART 5, chapter 16:
Immediately after dealing with the first soldier in the chapter, proceed forwards and on the right will be two buildings painted with the white 'X' of the plague. The alley between these two buildings leads to another soldier, and the final cart.
