Like with Borderlands, Telltale did it

How!? I don't know how Telltale does it, but they took a game with no story at all, and made a fun story that my daughter (a huge Minecraft fan) and me both could enjoy. I genuinely looked forward to each episode, and with Telltales historically very slow rollout, I was concerned my daughter would handle episodic. Turns out, they must have been sitting on episodes because instead of their normal 2 month between episodes they were coming in every two weeks. The voice acting was great, and I played both the female and male main characters, both were awesome. And the dialogue was written so well, the sex of the character didn't matter.

Naturally, this game is about the story, because the gameplay is non existent and ultimately your choices have very little meaningful impact on the outcome of the story. Telltale always has great sales, so when you see this on one of them, pick up, spend a few hours getting a bunch of points, and be glad you did.

  • I have to admit, I only played this game because I knew it was quick points. That means I had no expectations going in, so they were neither met nor was I disappointed (I mean I went in for the point, I got the points). That said, the game was not good, and I would not play this late at night if you are sleepy. The entire game consists of you...

  • I actually really liked this game. Not enough to rate it higher than it should be, but I enjoyed the art style and traversal. In a way it reminded me of like old Castlevania 2D games minus the action bits. I was keeping a map of the game in my head, remembering how to get from area to area, and there were only a few spots where I was completely lost and didn't know...

  • I usually rant about these 'artsy' experiences, however, this game actually delivers a unique experience. It is a really short game, but I honestly can't think of another game with similar mechanics. You play a young blind girl and the world around you is drawn in based on sound alone. So as you navigate around the world (the story is you chasing down a stray cat you...

  • You know what I hate? Crap games we all are supposed to pretend we like because they are artsy and has a deep message. I watched an interview with one of the developers talking about the control scheme and how it's "..like tying your shoes, both hands work in concert without you having to concentrate on it. That's the feeling we were trying to create." No. No. No. The...

  • I know this game is very very highly rated, and even I'm giving it a four outta of five stars. It's very well made, and has some great touches like replaying levels in collectible mode that others in the genre should copy. However, this was not for me, and I'm going to tell you why, but there will be spoilers so if you don't want to risk it, move on. ...
