Hey Ubisoft, Maybe Shaun White Power Would Be Better Phrase

You know Shaun White from the snowboarding world and his run in the Olympics. He does have a snowboarding game (that makes sense), but he also has a skateboarding game which is not that bad. Now I’m not a big skateboarding fan and have only played Tony Hawk’s Wasteland. In comparison this game is far better. It’s a fun and a fairly easy completion.

The premise of the game is that the world is run by the Ministry. They have made it a dull gray place to live in. Your mission is to free Shaun White (who has been imprisoned by the Ministry) and everyone else from this dull existence with your skateboarding feats. You explore the world jumping & grinding everything adding color back into people’s lives. The game has some fun mechanics that will let you skate in places you can’t in the real world. That’s a big part of the fun in the game.

A good sound track also makes the game more enjoyable while searching for collectibles, with songs by bands like Weezer & Kiss. An added bonus while playing games in general is finding some new cool song you never heard before like these two:

Stadium Love

Safety Dance

The controls work well, although there are instance when the game will not execute a simple jump from the ground onto a rail. This can be incredibly annoying when it has worked fine the ten other times you executed the same move. I also had to question the decision making at Ubisoft on this title. While you skate some of the citizen in the game will shout White Power to you. The meaning is Shaun White Power, but still how did they let this slide. To funny, as you do a double take with your ears. That aside, this is a solid game. It makes me look forward to playing their snowboarding game next.

  • I have to admit that when I started this game I had some preconceptions about what I was to expect from a game titled Firewatch. What I was expecting was some sort of forest simulator where you put out fires. That you would be working for the forest service as a lookout. Keeping an keen eye out for possible fires or smoke in the Wyoming wilderness. I also thought that I...

  • It’s zombies and more zombies for the killing as you play through this top down action adventure shooter. The controls are set up so that you move with the left stick and aim with the right stick. Holding down the right trigger is required to shoot. These controls are easy to master with some practice. You will be able to interact with objects by pressing the A...

  • When you think about the stealth genre in gaming Splinter Cell is one of the games that will immediately come to mind. Conviction is the second installment in the series on the Xbox 360 (fifth overall if you are counting the games on the original Xbox) that is based on Tom Clancy’s character Sam Fisher. There are books based on the character as well and just...

  • Unpacking, it’s a simple task that has been turned into a digital title for the Xbox One. It is a very easy game completion that will increase your gamer score by a good 1000 points. This is a perfect game for little kids as it can be satisfyingly fun organizing your belongings. Parents could make this game a learning moment as well for all those kids...

  • Before it arrived on the Xbox 360 in 2007, Carcassonne was first created as a board game in the year of our Lord 2000. Interestingly enough the board game was named after a real fortified city that sits on a hill in the south of France and it shares the same name as the games. 1755048507319226772 All three have a commonality that says it’s the Middle Ages.
