ZHEROS

Are you teetering on the edge of whether or not you think that video games are dying?
Do you think that beat 'em up games are pretty good?

Well then, don't play Zheros!

This game will suck the life out of you, make you disown your Xbox One, and ruin all beat 'em up games for you; even the good ones such as Streets of Rage and Castle Crashers However, Zheros is a 3D (no glasses needed) beat 'em up instead of a side-scroller.

Story: Dr. Vendetta is trying to take over the universe! You are tasked with stopping him. It's just a generic story. I think we all know how it goes in this adventure...

Gameplay: You play as either the female character, Captain Dorian; she moves faster, but hits lighter, or the male character Mike; he moves slower but is a heavy hitter (if you think that is sexist, then go back to Tumblr). Mash buttons to dodge, dip, duck, dive, and dodge. Then, you punch, punch, punch, punch, punch, punch, punch, punch, punch, and kick enemies to death. (You'll basically just button mash your way to victory) The enemies range from robots to robot dogs to robot bulls to aliens. Kill everything to win. Easy is really easy, Medium isn't much different, but Hard is where your problems will begin. The learning curve is massive so prepare to die from offscreen bullets and other unfair parts of the game.

Music: It's just repetitive electronic music that is annoying enough that you will mute it within the first 20 minutes of playing.

The Sights: Uhh... uhhhhhhhhhh... I don't wanna. SO BORING! You'd be hard pressed to remember any levels but the last one. It's inside of a volcano lair so it's kind of cool looking (with a painfully difficult boss fight on Hard mode).

Co-Op: Some people might find some happiness in the fact that this game actually has couch co-op. In the gaming world, couch co-op is a dying art. Whilst this game is horrible, at least it indulged us. There is an achievement for completing the game in co-op which will piss some people off because it's offline only.

Positives: (Kind of hard to think of any)
'Pretty decent' enemy variety
Splitscreen co-op
Actually has some skill involved (some BS in the game will anger)

Negatives:
Bad Music
No online multiplayer
Unfair Hard Difficulty
Boring to play and look at
Achievements are kind of glitchy

Final Thoughts: If you didn't get this game with GWG, then don't buy it. You aren't missing anything special/decent. Zheros is one of the, if not the, worst GWG released so far.

  • Gameplay: This isn't your father's Battleship... Every mission begins with the normal placement of your 5 ships, but then it gets much more refreshing. You have 'Attack' and 'Scan' resources (Red and White pegs) that you gain a few of after every turn. Each of your ships have special abilities that utilize these resources with some slight variation amongst the "factions" of ships. For...

  • ROBLOX
       Trash

Roblox is a multi-server/ multi-gamemode multiplayer game. It currently doesn't have that many gamemodes for a game of its style (just garbage; with nothing to look at because of horrible, horrible graphics), however gamemodes will most likely be added in waves. Also, this game's art style looks like if someone took Legos and rubbed them in nasty wax. Roblox is heavily micro-transaction...

  • What in the World? is one of those games where you are given a picture (normally with things like words removed) and you must guess what the picture is of. This game, however, has been laced with bugs and ads. After almost any puzzle is solved either an ad, a Facebook thing, a game breaking crash, or a rate and review thing will appear. This will drain a lot of enjoyment out of the...

  • Twins is a charming little endless runner game. You play as a ball trying to get as far as you possibly can before your inevitable demise. Gameplay: There is a line that you move along in the middle of the screen that is your center of gravity. It is full of holes and spikes. The holes allow you to switch your gravity to the other side of the line and the spikes (who would've...

  • Welcome to my review for Ben-Hur! Ben-Hur is quite possibly the greatest game ever made. Don't even get me started on the 100s of hours of replayability, beautiful graphics years ahead of its time, and immersive gameplay. Story: The story of Ben-Hur is the story of legends. I don't want to spoil the one amazing cut scene that is almost movie trailer-like in style and grandeur. This...
