Harms Way

Surprisingly fun for being a free product placement game.

I was surprised by how fun this game was for what it is. Not a great game by any means, but the concept is actually pretty cool. Harm's Way is a racing game where you have the option of either being in a vehicle racing or being in a turret on the periphery of the race track trying to take out racers. The controls are clunky, the graphics are grainy, and the sound effects are grating to say the least. So if this had been a full retail release or even a paid Arcade title, I would not be anywhere near this generous. But it's free, and you can 100% it in under an hour (picking up a badge here at GTN while you're at it).

As for the achievements, 11 of the 12 can be done either by yourself or with a second controller on the same system (most are significantly easier with the second controller, but all are doable with just 1). There is only one achievement that requires any kind of online play, and this one requires you to join a multiplayer session. The reason I say "any kind of online play" is because it can be done with a system link - no Gold required. This game is back-compat on the X1, so if you have an X1 and still have your 360, you can download the game on both systems, load them up, and system link with yourself to get the achievement. If you only have one of the systems though, you'll need to find a boosting session somewhere, as no one is actually playing this legitimately anymore. In that case, you would of course need a Gold subscription.

Overall, this is a fun way to spend an hour. It's a fun take on racing games, and you'll be done with it long before it wears out its welcome.
