Season premier is this Thursday at 10/9c. The show is starting its 4th season and has been one of my favorite shows over the last 3 years.

I didn't want to get into another show which might be another version of Game of Thrones so I never got into it.

I watched the first season and oh man couldn't wait to watch the second, I'm still on the second season I need to finish it up.
As for similar to GoT Vikings reminds me of Black Sails (another good show) that takes a time in history and puts it's own story in place.
