Twentieth Century Fox has delayed the Assassin's Creed film.

Originally set to arrive on August 7, 2015, the big screen adaptation of Ubisoft's franchise has been removed from next year's summer release schedule, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The site's sources cite several script rewrites and production scheduling issues for the delay. The film is now expected to release in 2016.

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooo :-(
I didn't even know that they were making an Assassin's Creed movie! I wonder which protagonist that they are planning to use? Desmond? Ezio? Altair? I doubt that it would be Connor or Edward, etc., as I don't think that these "newer" characters are as popular. Perhaps they will do a new character for the film?
Originally it was reported to be an Altair/Desmond movie focusing on AC1 events. Now the news is saying it will be an Ezio/Desmond movie with Robert Downey Jr. playing Leonardo DaVinci and will be an AC2 movie.

Mind you, everything we know about the AC movie (other than that Michael Fassbender will be in it) is completely rumor at this point.
Ezio I think based on the number of games based on him and the time period and area would make for a better movie.
