Which grind was your most or least favorite? Discuss.
All of them, both ways, since I have yet to actually 1000 point any of them.

As for the topic, it is 7 day survivor from DR1. Hands down. All of the kill grinds and the crafting and looting and whatnot can be done in bursts. You can do them here and there. 7DS in DR1 has to be done in one sitting. It takes roughly 14 hours. You can't save and quit. You can pause... but that's about it.

Funny that you posted this because I was thinking of going back to do the 72k in DR2 to finish off that game this weekend.

Having 100% all but the first game, here are my thoughts.

Dead Rising - 7 Day Survivor (14 hours real time minimum)
I haven't done this, because of the time investment mostly, and I gave up the game after I got screwed by a psycho not appearing on my Frank the Pimp/save all survivors run

Dead Rising 2 - 72,000 Zombie kills (Efficient driving skills & use of time)
Took a couple tries, slicecycle did the trick

Dead Rising 2 - Play and win all TIR events (online lobbies, none that are private)
Not so bad once you could find 3 friends and match up with the lobbies being dead. Legit was really tough since the games won't start without 4 people ready'd up in the lobby, and the lobbies were dead most all of the time.

Dead Rising 2 OTR - Gold medal challenges, solo & co-op
all those vibrators........

Dead Rising 2 OTR - Alpha vs. Omega (1st survivor never enters safehouse, damages final boss)
Probably a bit tough. I got lucky and hooked up with someone offering the achievement by having a save file at the end for this and the OJ only for food consumption

Dead Rising 3 - Complete all PP Trials
Not crazy tough, but quite the grind. Especially with the 300,000 or whatever total zombie kills required, in a single playthrough.

Yep 7 day survivor easily. More achievements need to be like this I think. I enjoyed it so much I did it twice to try and get a good leaderboard time
Dead Rising - 7 Day Survivor

That achievement attempt just brings back bad memories....
I never tried it, but from the guides the 7 day survivor didn't seem particularly difficult, just a massive time commitment. Back in the red ring days, this was a major risk to attempt. I would still probably rank it as the hardest of the bunch, followed by the OTR gold medals. Solo was tough, but co-op required the dedication of a good partner, plus having to go through all of them again with higher thresholds. I remember working with Ichya to pile up as many vibrators as possible for those chicks, and failing at the last few seconds so many times.

TIR would be 3rd, because it was highly luck and skill based, plus waiting forever in a lobby where one guy wouldn't ready up and no way to kick them or invite your friends to replace them.
You forgot the thanks for the poll option!

Played the first one, very shortly, didn't get it at the time.

Played DR 2 because of case zero and was on PC with Games for Windows* (addicted to achievements) and didn't have Xbox at the time or the wife was playing on it.

Loved the shit out DR3. Don't know if it was because it was a launch title, or if the Dead Rising shit finally clicked, but loved it. Still didn't do the hard one (PP trials).

So my vote doesn't really count.
I've never done any of the choices in the poll but the Alpha and Omega achievement so that means Hotdog and i probably had help from the same person.

But from what i've been told, i'd have to agree with Dacoto, that 7 Day Survivor was a plague with my friends back then, i pulled all the games out last weekend so i can try to complete them before the X1 versions come out, i got some great tips from people on the TA Facebook page, will give it a go when i attempt the Zombie Genocider achievement this weekend.

WIth the bike, you can get about 1k if you're flawless on it, but that takes about 45m-1h. Then there's the extra walking, the load times and etc. So it's really 1-1.25 hours. It just wasn't worth it. With the SUV I can zone at the Yucatan casino then right back into the SUV. Or I can save in the middle, then drive the cart up there. But timing wise, 1.5-2h for ~2k was better than the 1-1.25h for <1k. YMMV.

I am doing it by way of all cases as well. I want the overtime mode for cushion... and the kill 1000 special infected. Pro tip: Take off ALL the ninja gear (Thanks hotdog!). That is not something that I've seen mentioned. Also stock up on lightsabers. Especially in the beginning. When you start, before going to the pharmacy, grab 2 or 3 gem bags. One of the looters drops a flashlight. Also, next to the golf cart in Fortune park (the one in the middle behind the save point) is a flashlight. You'll want those. Any time you have to go inside and back to base for cases/katy's zombrex doses, grab a couple bags of gems. Having a stock of lightsabers will help when you're on foot or dealing with psychopaths.

Having done the all cases route, I was only about 4.5k kills behind the target for the no cases/katy dies mark at the Day 2 7am start. I look to be about on pace for the guy who did it the all cases method, but he used the bike. I may come out a touch ahead. I had to reload as I didn't like a choice I made to do kills instead of grab a nearby case marker.

Those are great tips for DR2, i didn't see that they upped the kills so that's going to suck but i'm going to get it and the others done, not looking forward to doing TiR again, hopefully they nerf the achievements like they did for RE5.
