Halo On Paramount Plus

My parents have Paramount Plus for a bunch of Soccer games, which means I have access to the Halo Series. Anyone else watching this train wreak of a show?
No, but now I'm glad I didn't get it just for this show like I had considered.
I plan on redeeming the Paramount trial offered through Game Pass and will give it a chance then. I typically wait to watch new shows to see if they get renewed so I know if it's worth giving it my time. So we'll see.

The show has already been renew for season two, even before the 1st episode aired if I remember correctly. Everything I have seen so far just indicates to me that the announcement is just a PR ploy to get more eyes on the show. They have thrown so much money at the show that they have to move forward with it, just like the Batman/Gotham TV show. At the very least they can just claim to have content, which every streaming service badly needs. It just isn't good.

The show comes out weekly which is a bit annoying, but another really irritating aspect to the show is that this is a PAID service and they are inserting 90 seconds of commercials into the show. They do this 5 times, 4 really, there is one set right before the end credits that you can skip. Still this is milking it for all it's worth.

I won't go into any spoilers. If this show continues on the current course it will just solidify that Paramount Plus is where Sci-Fi goes to die.
I'm liking it so far (even when Master Chief removed his helmet lol). I haven't seen any commercials during an episode but I did buy the premium plan just for that reason. I saw that they're following/based on the Halo "novels". Didn't know those existed. Haha

I know there are books and comics out there, never read any of them. Halo is know for being a video game, the non halo fan is going to be even less knowledgeable about the books that they might be drawing from and trying to create their own cinematic universe alla the MCU. They are just doing it badly, play to your built in audience. First and foremost Halo should be action/adventure. Three episodes in and we are not getting that at all. I keep hearing about this Silver timeline and I have no idea what it means. The show is not even explaining this.

Taking off that helmet in my opinion was a big mistake. Good for the actor for getting the role, he's a tall guy, not that physical looking, and now all I see is the character Pornstache from Orange Is The New Black. I don't buy him as master chief. A really good actor will act through anything. Case in point, just watched Hugo Weaving in V for Vendetta the other night. He never showed his face.
Frankly i'm amazed this was what Microsoft decided to greenlight after being so protective of the rights for years. Would have been cool to see the Peter Jackson version that was teased during the Halo 2/3 days

The last episode is out. Season 1 is a wrap and this show was horrible through and through, from start to finish. I was thinking of making a spoiler heavy thread. There are so many useless characters and plot threads that just bogged down this entire series.

Is this show as bad as Picard or Star Trek Discovery? It's close for sure. Both of these shows are part of Paramount+ and I am not going to waste my time watching them. If we still have Paramount+ for season two of Halo, then I might watch it. I would not spend money just for Halo.
