Techland is really excited to announce that Dying Light, its highly-anticipated action survival game, will hit the stores in 2015 on January 27th in the Americas, January 28th in Australia and New Zealand, and January 30th in Europe and Asia.

Dying Light can be pre-ordered from the game's official website. These pre-orders come with a free DLC mode called Be the Zombie. In this competitive asymmetric multiplayer mode, you invade other players’ games as the Night Hunter – an ultimate zombie with a unique set of deadly skills. By playing as the Night Hunter, you turn into a fast, agile and dangerous predator, whose objective is to hunt down human survivors.

The creators of Dying Light recently explained the game’s revolutionary Natural Movement system in the first Dev Diary video, recently released. Designed internally by Techland, Natural Movement empowers the player to traverse the fictional city of Harran with unprecedented ease and precision, seamlessly connecting parkour-style moves with brutal fighting.

Dying Light is a first-person, action survival game set in a vast and dangerous open world. During the day, players roam an urban environment devastated by a mysterious epidemic, scavenging for supplies and crafting weapons to help defeat the hordes of mindless, flesh-hungry enemies the plague has created. At night, the hunter becomes the prey as the infected grow in strength and aggression – even more lethal are the nocturnal, inhuman predators that leave their hives to feed. Players need to use all their skills and any available means to survive until dawn.

a part of me is saying, "eh another zombie game" and the another part is saying, "yay another zombie game"
What a turd. Major step back from Dead Island. It's not a zombie killing game..it's Mirror's Edge with zombies....a zombie avoidance game. Six hours in and bored to tears. I would have rather spent $60 on a bunch of 16d nails and drove them up my urethra with a 16lb sledge.
I'd much rather have Mirror's Edge than another Dead Island.
That would place you in the minority, me thinks. I have no numbers to back that up though, so don't request them! Lol

Really? Having completed them all (all BL and DI games), I see little to no connection. Although I do admit that I don't put a lot of thought into that sort of thing because it doesn't matter to me as long as I'm having fun, so maybe it's obvious and I just didn't notice.

I couldn't care less if there were a dozen carbon copies of Borderlands. I absolutely love that game, so that's just enjoyment 12 times over to me...I fail to see the downside Lol People can copy games like Borderlands, Rainbow Six, Halo, etc all day long as long as it leads to more fun for me. I have no personal stake in the dev studios, only in my enjoyment.
I hear what you are saying, but playing them back to back I was burnt out on it by the time I did Dead Island. It was okay, I just never got back to it (but I will). Borderlands was coming out so often I felt it was not really leaving a gap for someone to fill. Rainbow Six, hell yeah give me more of that, but who is copying that? No one I can think of, and they tease me with new ones of those every so often. This is exactly why I quit the entire AC series, too much, too fast and the quality wasn't there. And all the other takes on it was wearing me out, but it had a been awhile and let me tell you Mordor hit me perfectly with that same game play with just enough new.

From what I heard on the Bombcast, sounds like the first impressions are not good, BUT later on (15-20 hours), it turns and all the things that annoyed you are not a problem anymore. I've been behind on my podcasts because of all the year end discussions and I'm finally catching up so it was funny back to back listening to Brad whine about how much he hated the game then the following week how much he loved it. For me, it was just a few hours.
Well, Dead Island was sold to me as a Borderlands/Zombie Game...

I don't find Dead Island's characters to be as engrossing, though, and the humor is a lot weaker/less funny.

I vote for more Mirror's Edge, I can go play Borderlands and more Borderlands anytime. I am suffering from Zombie/survivor overload lately.

I feel at least from the start here, it's not enough Mirror's Edge and too much confrontation when you're supposed to be avoiding confrontation... Hearing it gets good in 20 hours isn't much consolation.
