And Connery is the second person to play James Bond on film, but, Barry Nelson gets ignored because the original Casino Royale is a television film and changes the character to an American working for the "Combined Intelligence Agency." This Bond predates Connery by almost a decade, as it was 1954, and Connery's debut in Dr. No (a 1958 novel) did not start production until 1961.

Casino Royale was made again in 1967 as a spoof of the franchise, starring David Niven as James Bond, and featured Woody Allen as Bond's nephew Jimmy Bond, who went by the alias Dr Noah.

While I'm not sure if he would have wanted to be cast in the role, the producers of the films should have attempted to get the actor who inspired the character, Sir Christopher Lee.

Hoagie Carmichael is the inspiration. Not Christopher Lee.

I voted for Daniel Craig because I have seen clips of his Bond movies and they didn't make me laugh. I like the Bourne-like movies.

Daniel craig as well as Pierce Brosnan were really suited for the job, though I like Sean Connery the most.
