EYE was a bit MAD when EYE found out that someone had not only already beat me to the punch on a year long bean dive, but out surpassed me by, like...a lot, but then I got over it, why, because not only is he a magnificent bean diving enthusiast that just "gets' it" like EYE do, he may actually be wizard on top of that!!! So lets get to know this MAD wizard of bean diving. For QUEEN and Country!!!..(that'll make sense soon)

Name:
Hello my name is Patrick or as most people call me Paddy. I once had someone call me Pat, but being named after my Grandad he was the only Pat in my family. So I kindly asked not to be called that.

Where do you live?
I live in the sunny UK, in a City called Coventry, England. Coventry is famous for being bombed in WW2 and having lady Godiva ride through its streets, naked on horse back; Queen also used her as one of their lyrics in Don’t Stop Me Now.

What do you do for a living?
I’m currently a Graphic Designer for a signage company. I’m also studying to become a teacher to pass on my passion and lack of knowledge of art and design onto the younger generation.

Tell me about your Gamertag?
MADeyePadEYE
I was reading Harry Potter at the time of creating my gamertag and one of the characters was called Madeye Moody. So being uninspired and the lack of being able to use Jamesdestroyer (My older brother is called James, and I destroy him) I took the the Madeye and added Padeye. I really regret using all the capital letters within my tag, but as I’m cheap I’ve never paid to change it. I still may do it one day, and just go with Madeye.

When did you start playing?
My brother had a couple of spectrums when I was small and I remember playing games such as skidmarks, Rolling Ronny, Batman and Jimmy White’s whirlwind Snooker (the best snooker player never to win the world championship) but if I’m honest its wasn’t until I had a megadrive/genesis of my own that I really played. Lucky for me my cousins also lived with me and they had a Super Nintendo, so I had the best of both worlds growing up.

What's your play style? Ex: booster? Completionist? How often and long do you play?
My play style is to dive, I’m currently as of writing this on a streak of 1428 days where I have played a new game on my gamertag. I joined a competition nearly four years ago called the potentially endless bean dive and it just hasn’t stopped, there is three of us left and if I’m honest it’s not a competition anymore it’s just a way of life. Shout out to Montana97 and seamonkeypowder my fellow divers. I get a huge amount of stick from people I know who think the bee all and end all is to complete everything they play, but I honestly don’t care; one two or all achievements just have fun in what your doing and don’t bash other people views. If anyone wants to know any more about my dive just message me I’m happy to answer any questions, as honestly I could talk about it fordays.

What’s your current gaming setup like?
I have three gaming setups, two in my own house and one at my brothers. Downstairs at mine I have a day one Chinese Xbox One and a Elite 360 which is hooked up to a 42 inch TV. I don’t get to play downstairs all that much as it’s more of a family TV but it’s there just in case. Upstairs I have a room dedicated to my love of gaming, my wife calls it my man cave. In there I have 2 x 42 inch Tv’s stacked on top of each other with one of each region 360’s consoles and Xbox Ones connected to them for double boxing. I have a couple of bookshelves for my games on and draws etc for my controller and wires. I also have a small table which I have a PC and monitor hooked up to for guides and general internet surfing while gaming. At my brother’s house I have an Xbox One and 360 connected to a 32 inch TV which I play while I’m round there.
After re-reading this I now know why my wife thinks it’s a bit excessive but hey I work hard and my family never goes without.

Tell me a good gaming story or experience? ex: Epic win/fail, marathon, accomplishment, a time you visited a game convention or met someone...or anything.
As I’ve already talked about my dive I won’t say that, but I was part of a team that won back to back GTASC titles over on TA, loved gaming with my buddies Mephisto4thewin, RedmptionDenied & ROGUE 1992. Completions are no joke but having friends playing alongside you is a great plus.

Do you have a special shout out to anyone in particular in the gaming community?
Special shout out to Mephisto4thewin sorry I couldn’t be with you this year buddy, but for sanity I had to stop. To anyone who knows me hello and to anyone who doesn’t also hello. I say a lot of stupid things but I’d like to think I’m a good guy and enjoy helping where I can. I’ll quote a good buddy of mine DAZTK it’s just what we do.

What's your favorite game genre?
That’s easily platformers, it goes hand in hand with my other love, games where you are constantly restarting. I know it frustrates some people but it gets my juices flowing. I don’t complete many, but I am chipping away at some that have been on my card for many years now, and plan to complete some this up and coming year. Super Meat Boy you will be mine.

What’s your favorite game on 360? ONE? Of all time (any system)
It’s a toss up between Trials HD and Battlefield Bad Company 2. Trials is the best single player experience I have had on the 360 and Bad Company was easily the best multiplayer experience I have had. Story wise it has to be Bioshock.

What is your worst game and Why?
Gladiator (later known as Great Gurianos on consoles), was a ported game my brother had on his ZX Spectrum. The game had to be created on 48K of space in order to cater to those who hadn't upgraded to a more powerful spectrum. In order to achieve this, something had to be removed from the base game. The developers decided to delete the ending from the game, but it didn’t end there they also made the boss invincible so no ever got to find out there was no ending. After all my hard work I never did see the ending to this game I may youtube it. Hopefully this isn’t something we will get when the next xbox comes out. Even though I played worse games a game you can not complete takes the biscuit.

If you were a Video Game or game character who and why?
I’d go with Crash Bandicoot he’s an absolute nut job and ginger like me. I’ve always liked voodoo masks too so that’s a plus.

Are you looking forward to any new releases?
I’m really looking forward to Cuphead and Yooka-Laylee as those type of games are in my wheelhouse. Also I’d love another trials and bad company game as I really them.

Do you collect or not so much?
I own nearly 1800 Xbox 360 games on disk and have 90% of the Xbox one catalogue as of now but if my wife asks no I don’t collect.

What else do you do besides gaming?
Outside of gaming I’m a keen guitar player I own both an acoustic guitar and an electric bass guitar. I’ve never been in a band but have done a few open mic nights around my home town. I also love to play pool and snooker and used to play competitively when I was younger. Sport and movies etc are also things I enjoy.

What's your favorite feature on GTN?
Easily the badges. I haven’t gone through them to see what I’m close to yet, but now I’m having a year away from my normal competitions it’s 100% the time to dive into them more.

What would you tell people about GTN if you were trying to get them to join?
First and for most the badges, it’s not the only selling point of the site but I do think this is a great way of adding excitement and sets the site apart from others. I would also mention the neat and tidy site layout, as a designer I find it very easy to use.

Is there anything you would like added to the site?
Being competitive I’d love to see some more gaming competitions. Be that gamerscore, most completions in a month or any other format any one can think of, in my eyes it adds a bit of excitement and buzz around my gaming. Also a heap more badges please? That one is for my buddy Mephisto. One last thing thank you for letting me do this, considering I’ve not been very vocal on the site I wasn’t sure I’d be picked. I do plan to be more vocal this year and if anyone wants to game or chat I’m always around.

Congrats MADeyePadEYE and great interview! Always wondered where your gamertag came from - it's definitely unique.

And its cool to see another graphic designer in the wild. Do you make the larger designs like for print, billboards and such?
Good interview buddy. Not much there i didnt already know but still was a good write up. I dont need many more badges just enough for me to hit top 10 onsite Smile
Congrats on MotM. It would have made more sense to have your gamertag be MadeyePadfoot, if you were into HP; but since you went more for the rhyming GT, it will have to so until you decide to change it.
I had wondered if the gamertag was an intentional dig or nod towards the iPad in addition to making me think of Mad Eye Moody. Looks like it was just the Harry Potter reference with a little rhyming. Lol

Nice interview.
Grats and welcome to the MotM club. My dad would love you, he is nuts about snooker aswell.
I love being a designer Eric done a few billboards for local companies, we call them 64 sheets over here. A lot of my work is on the larger scale, do a lot for our local football and Rugby club. Currently working on a re brand on all the outdoor signage at Birmingham Airport, Car park, illuminated and totem signs. Also help friends and do twitch/twitter banners etc in my spare time.
Hey MadEye, great read man. Sounds like you and I have a lot in common, which seems to be the way things go around here. You're in good company.
Congrats Madeye! How long did you play that game before you realized the end was invincible?
Congrats on MoTM. I always thought there was a bit of Harry Potter in you tag.
Cheers everyone Madeyepadfoot does have a nice ring to it Dvader83 Smile
@ Kaens, yeah everyone seems laid back which is always nice to see, always looking for new people to socialise with and play games with. @ MarvzMitts I must of done it a good 10 times and finally gave up, it wasn't until about 3 years ago I stumbled across a right up on the game saying what the port version issues were and thought damn you *bleepers*
