So I know we have some collectors out there and as I was checking out my local Toys R Us, I noticed hey had a Knightmare pack that came with a new Trap Master called Knightmare with a new world and trap and he's a new element called "Dark" element.

On the back of the package there is an advertisement for the "Light" element pack as well with a new world and Trap master plus trap.. I asked and the clerk said they sold out of the "Light" pack just a heads up.

"Dark" was never an element, it was a variant name. Dark was the Gamestop, Nitro is the Target, Legendary are from TRU, and Walmart had the Glow in the Dark ones. Dark Spyro was always magic type, it's just a variant.

Edit: Oh yeah, and from what I've been seeing these later waves are going to be even more rare because with the exception of TRU, Disney Infinity is taking over all the shelf space.

How are they going to differential between the Undead characters and the Dark characters? With the Swap Force releases Rattle Shake would have been considered Dark I guess, but even he dealt with undead snakes coming out of the ground.

Kaens, does the character in your video remind you of Trap Shadow? He also shares the name Night Shift (unless I am hearing the video wrong) with Night Shift, the ghostly vampire boxer, from Swap Force. Maybe I am being cynical, but is Skylanders becoming unoriginal? I hope it's just my tiredness. My daughter and I really enjoy that franchise.

Your right Dark was never an element but it was a popular variant, so now it is an element.. so now we can get more variants, as long as these things are popular we will be getting more elements, and remember they did change developers at one time:

http://metro.co.uk/2014/04/24/skylan...games-4706940/

The first two games were developed by the Toys For Bob studio, which is responsible for inventing the ‘toys-to-life’ category. After a change in developer for last year’s Swap Force – in which Skylanders characters could be combined for players to utilise both sets of powers – Toys For Bob is back at the helm for the fourth instalment of the franchise.

That article goes on to say that toys to life genre is now a staple and will not be going away.. I mean look at Infinity and even Amiibo though Amiibo is not exactly like the others it's just goes to show that this genre will grow and into other stuff and game types.. just wait you'll see..

My daughter gets excited whenever the toy in her McDonald's Happy Meal is a Skylander. I always tell her it won't work on our game, but she doesn't care. She is happy to have another Skylander to play with because she loves their look and how creative they are. I couldn't agree more. With Trap Team now released, and with the addition of Light and Dark elements I am sure McDonald's will follow suit.

My daughter also gets extremely happy when we go to the Community Helping Place in our town because they have a 'kids can pick 1 free toy' box. Most of the time she finds discarded McDonald's Skylanders from years prior to Swap Force. She loves Chop Chop because his sword arm swings, something that would be cool if the actual game based toys could do.

If McDonald's is putting Skylander toys in their happy meals, it is a safe bet that Skylanders will be around for a long time.

I wish they would make a cartoon show or a movie to cement their franchise. I would love to see a full length movie using the same style of their commercials. It would allow for more immersion and imagination when using the characters also.

I also here tell of the villains actually getting there own figures later.

Glumshanks would have a interesting figure also, especially if they placed him in a vehicle like the one he used during the boss battle in Swap Force. I guess it could look similar to the look of Trigger Happy riding his rocket.
