I'll just have to disagree with you. I've seen plenty of grudge matches that ended in a mutual respect for each other.. I give you DC not pushing things and loosing most of the rounds but he had Jones rocked with he upper cuts.. and I saw it that Jones had DC tied up and on the fence most of the time it would have sapped my strength too I guess having a 6 foot 7 guy pressed against you.. DC did he right things, he can't stand toe to toe with Jones He souls lose because Jones IS that good and the near 12 inch reach advantage would have killed him.. I've seen Jones go in and be energetic, but no this fight. Jones Talked about "Very bad and violent things" happening and all we got was Jones clinching with DC. I say there was just something wrong with DC..

I thought honestly he had Jones if he would have pressed that first round.. he should have knocked him out.. and yes it was a sucker punch.. regardless if the round hadn't ended. Jones intentionally raising his hands as if to seemingly give up and walk away, DC didn't throw a punch he knew the round was ending he knew he'd lost but Jones took the punch in-between the ref and DC.. if the Herb wasn't standing between them then I'd say well I guess that was DC's fault for not being battle savvy. I've seen plenty of first rounders come out and one guy holds his hand up to touch gloves and the other guy just firing off sucker punches, not very classy and this was the sane thing, albeit last few seconds of the round.

Also I can't see your video, my fish is out of date right now and it's not my Mac so I won't updated it without my GF permission and she's kind of skitish about that stuff..and for some reason I can't see it on my WP either.. There are a lot of people out there who look and act nice around the camera but when it comes down too it their complete jerks.. (Mel Gibson?) I was a security officer when I first moved out to Vegas I worked at Paris and got a detail walking Shaq around the casino so no one would crowd him, no big deal, until we walked into shop and he had two little kids like 9-10 year olds or so run past us and ask for his autograph. The first thing he did was brush them off and told them no he wasn't giving autographs at this time.. then he gave us a dirty look. The parents were apologetic and the kids looked a little stunned, his prerogative I understand that.. but yet when he came out of the store there was a professional photographer walking in and and Shaq saw this because he immediately walked up to a young girl in a wheel chair and leaned over and started to talk to her, whipped out a pen and while the press was taking his picture autographed a magazine she had in her hands.. (honestly don't even know if he was even in that particular magazine) but the girl looked shocked too, almost as if she didn't even know him.. during my time as a security officer at Paris I encountered a few celebrities at various points, 90% of them were honestly nice even when no one was around.. but a few were just horrid.

Oh and that flying triangle attempt I don't see as ruse for anything. I think he tried to slap it on in fashion but they were both just so sweaty he just slipped off.. it happens.. and yea he was defiantly saved by the bell there..

The Cerrone fight was...good for the first round.. but then it became like all the other fights that night.. just stand and check with the occasional good hit.. I was very disappointed in the matchings.. it was just a case of technical striker v technical striker and those types of match ups are either A: very good and usually short, or B: what we got punch, check, Oh! punch block, circle....repeat. I don't think he took him to school..maybe the first round where I thing he should've ended it. Don't get me wrong I really like Cowboy he's usually an awesome fighter as is most of the others on this card, with exception to Burkman, who has never really impressed me one way or the other..

We agree on quite a bit, I think it's just perspective. Your analysis is similar to mine, Jones was off and DC was pushing the pace and getting in great shots. That's all DC has, that's my point! There is nothing more he could have done, he gave 100%. Meanwhile, Jones was timid and I think he respected DC too much. He didn't look himself, and yeah, I give DC credit for that, but in a rematch I bet it's even MORE lopsided than 49-46. Are you suggesting that me and the three judges scored it wrong?

There was NEVER a time Jones was saved by the bell. He threw the flying triangle on at the end of that round because that's what people do. Here comes my flying triangle, here comes the wild spinning back fist, here comes the superman punch off the fence... whatever you think might win you the round. Jones never would have had time to submit DC even if he didn't slip right off, and DC sure as hell didn't have time to take the top and finish Jones.

The video is from right before his Shogun fight when he won the belt (at 22 I believe) he's being interviewed about running down a thief. A selfish person wouldn't help, and they sure wouldn't do it on the day of the biggest fight of their lives. He's made mistakes, and he's acted childish several times, but he has a good heart. I don't have a clue what's in Shaq's heart, don't care, it's as relevant to DC here as it is to Jones.

Regarding touching gloves, you may remember that both fighters did touch gloves, for the first few round I believe. In the post fight presser, Jones said he was ready to just let the fight be the end of it. However, in what you consider a sucker punch (somehow when both men are being paid to fight until the bell), Jones got his shots in before the bell and DC swung LATE and hit Herb Dean! That pissed Jones off and rekindled his hatred of DC.

Here are some numbers, courtesy of Sherdog...

92: Significant strikes landed by Jones. By comparison, Cormier landed 58 significant strikes. Jones outlanded his adversary 25 to 18 in round one, 24 to 15 in round three, 16 to 3 in round four and 11 to 4 in round five. Cormier, meanwhile, outlanded Jones 18 to 16 in the second period. Jones also held a 126-to-78 edge in total strikes.

40: Significant strikes in the clinch landed by Jones. Cormier, meanwhile, landed 22 significant strikes in the clinch.

34: Significant strikes to the body landed by Jones. By comparison, Cormier landed 11.

15: Significant strikes to the legs landed by Jones. Cormier landed seven significant strikes to the legs.

43: Significant strikes to the head landed by Jones. Cormier landed 40 significant strikes to the head.

916: Career significant strikes landed by Jones, the most in UFC light heavyweight history and No. 4 in the promotion all-time behind Sam Stout (970), Frankie Edgar (1091) and Michael Bisping (1,095).

3: Takedowns landed, in five attempts, by Jones against Cormier, who took fourth place in freestyle wrestling at the 2004 Olympics. “Bones” took his opponent down once in round one and twice in round four.

0: Takedowns landed, in 11 attempts, by Cormier opponents in his 12 previous UFC and Strikeforce bouts.

1: Takedown landed, in eight attempts, by Cormier. The American Kickboxing Academy representative landed his lone takedown of the fight late in the final stanza. Cormier and Alexander Gustafsson are the only fighters to take Jones down in UFC competition.

You really should watch the post fight pressers whenever you can, lots of good info there and chance to see the fighters talking. If you buy the ppv on xbox you get it free, but you have to stay up awhile because it often takes an hour before it gets started and it's already late by then. Here is a link to a good one...

Nope I'm not suggesting you or the judges scored it wrong and stats wouldn't have meant anything if DC would have simply finished the fight. Unfortunately it did go to the judges and that's where stats count.. most of the time.. Ok I see your point on the flying triangle at the end of the round yes calculating if he would have done it sooner it may have been a different story. I saw the sucker punch what it was for and I'm not going to argue that point anymore it was just bad sportsmanship in my eyes.. he could have just walked away but Jones initiated it DC just responded in kind and Herb being hit proves my point, the ref even thought Jones was just walking away otherwise he wouldn't have stepped in between them.

As for Jones being a good guy and running down a thief on fight night.. well good for him, or it could have been for other reasons I don't know Al I see what he's really like running down a thief doesn't necessarily make him good guy, may like Shaq it was just opportunity.

To say DC gave it his all.. I don't think so, this guy is Olympic caliber and trains with the Heavyweight champ. I think there was something definitely up with him that night. I'd like to see the rematch to see which of us is right?

I would still like to see a rematch, sure. But Jones just majorly disappointed me by failing his drug test and checking into rehab. That's not how a father of three should be acting.

I presume you didn't follow the link and watch the post game, maybe you're still having problems with your player, but he said in there he's getting his life together and moving to NM and going to train year round. Right now he's still fucking around and playing video games and apparently doing drugs when he doesn't have a fight coming up.

My co-worker has been training for MMA locally. Im not big on these other than I watched a few PPVs on a stream. His fight is on friday so I am curious to see how he does.

He was telling me about cauliflower ear and how rare it is to get and then it bursting is very uncommon.

If he's going to be out for year they will have to have an interim champion until he gets back then the and the interim will have to fight.. so a rematch may not be out of the question.. UFC rules state you have to be willing and able to defend your championship belt at the very minimum of every 6 months, that's why they took GSP's belt from him, because he said he wanted to take some time off.. interesting things..

And so what if it was Coke it was still a bad decision, also don't forget "In May 2012, Jones was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence when he drove his car into a telephone pole in New York. He pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor..." http://espn.go.com/mma/story/_/id/12...es=og.comments good thing he got a second chance and now he checks himself into drug rehab AFTER he was caught..fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.

Still sound like good guy to you?

I just take back the good guy comment.

Well like I said there is another test pending. I know about that UFC and Rebok stuff, I guess time will tell, but more than likely your right, nothing will come of it...sigh

So enough beating this dead horse, for now.. Lets talk Silva and Diaz!! I'm thinking Silva will be back in top form and take Diaz out pretty quick, I just hope this new "Humbled" Silva stays, I was really getting pissed at his in ring antics.

I'm surprised he's back at all, frankly. He may never be the same fighter due to his age and the nature of his losses. I'd still like to see Diaz embarrassed at the very least.

I completely love both Diaz brothers and I cannot say why. Some heels I love, like Koscheck or Tim Silva, others I hate, like Rampage or Tito. This is a tough one for me because I love Anderson and I love Nick. I still haven't decided what to root for, I just hope it's a war and they both do their best.
