Namco Bandai's upcoming action and adventure game, Afro Samurai, now has a United States release date: January 27, 2009. Afro Samurai will be based on the popular anime series of the same name. Afro Samurai is the animated epic of a samurai’s hunt for the gunman who murdered his father. Academy Award-nominated actor Samuel L. Jackson stars as the uncompromising hero in a world that mixes traditional Japanese culture, sci-fi adventure, and modern hip-hop taste (music by famed 'Kill Bill' composer and Wu-Tang Clan rap band leader RZA.) Much like the anime series, Samuel L. Jackson will be voicing the lead character in the game.

I liked Afro Samurai, for all it's randomness and shortness. But I wish there was an FLCL game. Now THAT would kick ass.

I'm not too fond of games made after animé. =\

They're usually crap, and I've played a lot of anime games. Though, I haven't really read so much in a release of an anime game. Maybe this one will be the one that doesn't flop. xD

It has Samuel L. Jackson voice acting so if that's any motivation to rent or buy it, go for it. I may rent this game once it comes out and hopefully let you guys know how it is.
