Comic Jumper

Pretty Decent Side Scroller!

Difficulty
Fairly easy to complete as long as you take your time moving through the levels. I tried to run-and-gun given the feel of the game but found myself being reset back to check points pretty often. The better strategy appears to be to move forward until you see an enemy and retreat back slightly so they are in view, but you have time to jump over their attack.

Time to completion isn't too bad. Even if you are having some difficulties, it should still take you between 5 and 8 hours to finish it off. Unfortunately, it's only a 200 GS completion.

Good-to-Know Info
Don't hoard your cash! I found out late into the game that buying extras in the store (art, videos, etc.) will increase your payout at the end of each mission (1%-3% each item). Buying art early on will allow you to upgrade Capt. Smiley long before the game is over. Otherwise you will be stuck grinding after you finished, like me... Definitely start with concept art and other items like that prior to upgrading weapons. I would also recommend doing health first when going after abilities.

There are 3 missables, but you can chapter select after completing a level. The two big ones to watch out for are "Eugene's Protégé" (you need to play every QTE mistake free) and "He Ain't Even Married". That achievement requires you to beat a "semi-boss-like-character" without being hit. There are plenty of videos out there outlining the basic strategy (restart the check point after meeting him, continue until you reach ~400,000 HP remaining, use 3 assistance boosts one after the next).

The third missable is in chapter one and it's "Shut Star Up". You'll be arguing with the insignia on your chest and you just need to keep punching him until it pops.

Over-all Review
I enjoyed this game, but you need to like the Twisted Pixel humor to truly enjoy it. There are a lot of jokes and puns throughout the game that will keep you laughing so be sure to keep the volume up. It's definitely worth a play through and I'd give it an 8/10.

  • Difficulty There are 1 or 2 achievements that will give you some trouble (Romeo Alpha Delta is the hardest, Crazy Freaking Skills can be troublesome too), but the rest will just require a little time and patience to overcome. Good-to-Know Info First off, it's FREE... not fremium, but free. Also, you can use in-game boosts to make achievements...

  • Difficulty Very easy to complete. There are some YouTube videos that will show you where all the collectibles are. I highly suggest avoiding the IGN written guide since it omits items and is not properly edited (author skipped an item and instead of adding it in his guide... he notes at the end of the level that you need to go back to get it). Other than...

  • Difficulty Very easy to complete. There are various YouTube guides instructing you on how to 3 star every level in the game. You won't need to finish off every box for all gamerscore, so you are free to wing it and spread out your 3 star levels. Good-to-Know Info ** You can unlock achievements in the trial version, which will lock in your gamertag unless you are...

  • Difficulty Fairly easy to complete. You can use numerous guides on the internet for the "story" mode that will outline which shapes to use to clear the board. If you are going about it legit, you still shouldn't have too much trouble until the later levels. Good-to-Know Info Since all users on Windows 8 have live access, you are able to create 3...

  • Difficulty Not a very hard game at all to 1,000. Especially since you can use the following site: You are required to sign up, but it's odd since they don't send a verification. You can make up a non-existent email... it's what I did. You can press pause and look up just about every...
