Rabbids Big Bang (WP)

Played better, played worse

So, here we go with yet another game featuring your favorite buck-toothed nutballs, the Rabbids. This time they have you flying through space, collecting coins, making laps around planets while jumping from one gravitational field to the next, etc.

Basically you start out standing on a planet and you're given an objective. You choose your direction of launch and BOOM...another Rabbid Jose Cansecos you into the atmosphere using his handy dandy baseball bat. From this point you now need to move around the atmosphere using your jetpack to complete your objectives. Objectives range from "follow the checkpoints" courses to flying a certain distance, collecting X amount of coins, hitting certain objects in the atmosphere, etc.

Your jetpack burns fuel along the way. so using your momentum is paramount. Instead of just laying into the throttle the entire time as most of us enjoy doing, many of the missions require you to jump from one gravitational field to the next and those often require some finesse. Fuel pickups allow you to replenish your jetpack and sometimes they're easy to grab but not always. Once you get a feel for the physics it gets a little easier but I still find many of the levels challenging. Obviously your mileage may vary in that regard.

All in all it's not a great game but at $.99, it's still worth the price of admission.

  • Murdered: Soul Suspect is a third person over-the shoulder action game that was very much under-rated, in my humble opinion. It has elements of supernatural survival horror and elements of an "investigative" Sherlock Holmes type game. Your character, a detective, is killed early on and you play the game as his ghost (complete with supernatural abilities that you pick up along...

  • This game was underrated in a major way, imho. I picked it up expecting it to be lackluster at best but it ended up being one of my most fun co-op experiences on the 360. The story line is obviously cheesy but the comedy-infused dialogue is fantastic. It's a basic third person shooter that plays very well thanks to the control/cover scheme that will feel...
