Where the Wild Things Are

Fun Game to Bring Back Childhood Memories!

Difficulty
Very easy to complete. There are some YouTube videos that will show you where all the collectibles are. I highly suggest avoiding the IGN written guide since it omits items and is not properly edited (author skipped an item and instead of adding it in his guide... he notes at the end of the level that you need to go back to get it). Other than that the only "difficult" achievements are not falling during the sequences where you are navigating in water or on one of the Wild Things backs. Both may take a few tries, but aren't too complicated.

Good-to-Know Info
If you unlock all of the geodes, you will have a cheat available that shows you the location of collectibles by pressing the back/select button. This is very helpful with clean up if you do not use a video guide.

The difficulties stack and it isn't too hard so play on "Hard" mode right away.

Review
The game is a pretty relaxed run-though and plays similar to other kiddie games. You take on the role of Max and go through approximately 10 levels with the assistance of the Wild Things. You will have to kill bees and a few other unfriendlies along the way. It is a typical platformer and has a basic fighting system (press x or hold x for a stronger attack).

I found the game to be even more fun since it reminded me of being younger and reading the books.

  • Difficulty Fairly easy to complete as long as you take your time moving through the levels. I tried to run-and-gun given the feel of the game but found myself being reset back to check points pretty often. The better strategy appears to be to move forward until you see an enemy and retreat back slightly so they are in view, but you have time to jump over their attack....

  • Difficulty There are 1 or 2 achievements that will give you some trouble (Romeo Alpha Delta is the hardest, Crazy Freaking Skills can be troublesome too), but the rest will just require a little time and patience to overcome. Good-to-Know Info First off, it's FREE... not fremium, but free. Also, you can use in-game boosts to make achievements...

  • Difficulty Very easy to complete. There are various YouTube guides instructing you on how to 3 star every level in the game. You won't need to finish off every box for all gamerscore, so you are free to wing it and spread out your 3 star levels. Good-to-Know Info ** You can unlock achievements in the trial version, which will lock in your gamertag unless you are...

  • Difficulty Fairly easy to complete. You can use numerous guides on the internet for the "story" mode that will outline which shapes to use to clear the board. If you are going about it legit, you still shouldn't have too much trouble until the later levels. Good-to-Know Info Since all users on Windows 8 have live access, you are able to create 3...

  • Difficulty Not a very hard game at all to 1,000. Especially since you can use the following site: You are required to sign up, but it's odd since they don't send a verification. You can make up a non-existent email... it's what I did. You can press pause and look up just about every...
